The final chapter has Ryu and E. Honda fighting as well as those slapstick gags that you've come to love. Those of you that are working today be aware that there's the bonus of a hairy man-ass.

And so the tournament begins. The increase in action has coincided with a drop in the funnies, but since we're all hooked now they've got our attention for the duration regardless. Note to office workers: Guile has a mouth like a sailor in this one, so you might want to turn it down.

<![CDATA[ Street Fighter: The Later Years Episode VI ]]>

McWhertor isn't the only one addicted to episodes of Street Fighter: The Later Years. I eagerly anticipate waiting to learn what will happen next when a bunch of troubled former video game stars try to put aside their differences and staggering personal demons to reinvigorate the Street Fighter tournament. Prepare yourself for the worst Chun-Li sex scene ever.

<![CDATA[ Week in Games: Silent Hill Origins Edition ]]> shocover.jpgThe flood of amazing game titles seems to have ebbed a bit this week which my beleaguered bank account is most thankful for. Silent Hill: Origins will be my purchase this week as I try to plow through the last two week's worth of purchases. Anything on the list catch your eye?

Silent Hill: Origins (PSP)
Take a prequel visit to creepy Silent Hill and see how it got so creepy.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (X360, PC, PS3, DS)
World War II is finally over.

Empire Earth III (PC)
take your empire from humble beginnings to outer space.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (WII)
A dubious pairing. But who will win?

Gears of War (PC)
Marcus Fenix and his scarred legions arrive on the PC.

The Simpsons Game (PSP)
D'oh! Just a week behind.

Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War (X360, PS3)
Think Dynasty Warriors in medieval Europe.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (WII, X360, PS3, DS)
Relive Star Wars through the blocky world of Legos.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (WII)
Charge of the Dawn Brigade.

F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate (PC)
I fear another expansion is in the works.

F.E.A.R. Files (X360)
Both F.E.A.R expansion packs in one fancy package

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance (PC)
If the original wasn't enough for you.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker (DS)
Hunt for monsters and make them do your bidding.

Bee Movie Game (WII)
Ok, let's be honest. Does anyone really care?

<![CDATA[ Thursday's Forecast Calls For Bladestorm ]]> The Hundred Years' War is getting an early head start as Koei announces the playable demo for Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War hitting Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Network this Thursday. Players will be able to experience war on a scale previously unattainable, thanks to a brand-new game engine made possible by the power of the current consoles. Kingdom Under Fire whet my appetite for the action RTS, so I have really high hopes for Bladestorm. Check back on Thursday to see if Koei breaks my heart or keeps hope alive.

<![CDATA[ Bladestorm's Spears, Arrows, And Elephants ]]> Koei knows war, so it comes as no surprise that they're going all out to bring you the very best that one of the longest wars in history has to offer in the upcoming Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War. Sure, they could have just included your standard calvary units amongst the archer and spearmen units showcased in the screenshot gallery below, but that would be too plain. Instead, Koei has unleashed war elephants! How do you stop a war elephant? You don't sir, unless you're an elf who can't spell elephant, and unless I am mistaken the elves died out way before the 100 Years' War. Pay attention in history class kids and you too can have stunningly accurate discussions of historical warfare just like mine.

<![CDATA[ My Xbox Live Diamond Card Arrives ]]> Back before I was a regular poster at Kotaku I was a regular reader of Kotaku, and back in December of 2005 when Crecente posted a story about the Xbox Live Diamond card, I was right there when the program launched to sign up. Stories of happy gamers receiving their shiny plastic cards started surfacing around the middle of last year, but sadly I was not among those shiny happy people (holding hands). Soon my dream of owning a relatively useless piece of plastic faded. Then yesterday, while rifling through bills, I noticed an envelope trimmed in green and gold, with the words 'Diamond Program' beneath a large, friendly Xbox Live logo. Yes friends, today I am a man. I'm not sure why it took the better part of two years, but finally the Platinum Card and accompanying burrito coupon are mine. People really do win!

<![CDATA[ Street Fighter: The Later Years Is Back! ]]> After a painful eight month wait lacking any semblance of joy, our lives are back on track now that Street Fighter: The Later Years has officially returned. The kids at CollegeHumor just gave us the go ahead, as part four of the series is now live, and looking sexier than ever in the new widescreen format. I'll refrain from spoiling too much, but the Balrog cameo might just be one of the best gags yet.

<![CDATA[ Street Fighter: The Later Years Returns ]]> It's been 8 months since the last episode of College Humor's Street Fighter: The Later Years, and we have missed it terribly. Now the series returns on September 7th for the first of 7 monthly episodes that will finish off the 10 episode series. Here is a trailer of things to come. "What's a kick?" Comedy gold. If you missed episodes 1-3 be sure to check them out. So very worth it. ]]> Thu, 30 Aug 2007 11:00:02 MDT Mike Fahey http://kotaku.com/index.php?op=postcommentfeed&postId=295151&view=rss&microfeed=true <![CDATA[ Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War Trailer ]]> I bet when Edward the Black Prince or Jeanne d'Arc were fighting in the actual Hundred Years' War, which saw the forces of England face off against the forces of France, they never dreamed that one day Koei would make a game out of the whole thing called anything nearly as cool as Bladestorm. Hell, maybe they did. I could see The Black Prince stopping every couple of miles to etch the words Bladestorm into trees with his dagger, perhaps accented with little stylized lightning bolts. And Jeanne, hell, she's the one who coined the saying, "Better to burn out than fade away." Of course she'd be down with a game title that sounds like an 80's metal band. *throws up horns* ]]> Tue, 21 Aug 2007 17:00:12 MDT Mike Fahey http://kotaku.com/index.php?op=postcommentfeed&postId=291840&view=rss&microfeed=true <![CDATA[ Pac-Man Creator Not So Good At Pac-Man ]]> iwatani_prof.jpg

Last week, Pac-Man creator Toru Iwatani called it a day and has semi-retired off to a university teaching position. So, Toru Iwatani must be amazingly good at the game he created. Nope! He says:

I did come up with Pac-Man, but truthfully my reflexes are not what they used to be, and with my concentration capabilities diminishing I don't think I can take on any contenders. My role on the Pac-Man experience, rather than excel at it, has been to come up with the structure which will provide thousands with enjoyment. At least, I have this excuse for not being good at playing it!

Geez, he sounds so old saying that.

<![CDATA[ Final Fantasy Celebrates 20 Years ]]> ff20.jpg

If you're a Final Fantasy fan and reside in the San Francisco Bay Area, your dreams of going to a party celebrating the 20th anniversary of the long running franchise have just come true.

On June 26, Square Enix will be throwing a shindig at the Sony Playstation Store at the Metreon Center at 101 4th Street in downtown San Francisco to commemorate the occasion of twenty years of magic, mayhem and androgynous male characters. Party goers will get the chance to purchase the Final Fantasy I revamped for the PSP as well as getting a glimpse of the new FF II remake (also on the PSP). As an added bonus, the first hundred people through the door will receive exclusive FF merchandise. If you're one of those lucky hundred, be sure to snap pictures of this exclusive merchandise so we can post it here and make you the envy of every FF fan in the world (minus ninety-nine).

<![CDATA[ Leo Burnett Resigns Nintendo UK ]]> leoburnett.gif
After seven years of being Nintendo's advertising agency, Leo Burnett has resigned the account in the UK.

Weeks before the Wii launch, it insisted that ads for the console were reshot to 'look more like ads', rather than the documentary-style spots Leo Burnett had created (Marketing, 22 November 2006). Leo Burnett had subsequently been unhappy with the lack of creative authority it had on the account.

This means Nintendo will be on the prowl for a new ad agency in the UK, though I'm sure a line is already forming outside their door.

<![CDATA[ Happy Birthday, City of Heroes ]]>

This weekend, City of Heroes, the comic book super hero based MMO celebrated three years of saving the earth from certain destruction. The thriving community boasts over twenty four million user created characters with more than half of those reaching the game's top tier of Level 50.

Sure, the numbers aren't as impressive as something like World of Warcraft, but you have to give them credit for being around so long and creating a fun user experience even if it does get a bit repetitive. At least they don't have to resort to giving points for demolishing abandoned buildings like some MMO's we know of.

Yes, Star Wars Galaxies, we're looking at you.

<![CDATA[ A Missed Birthday Opportunity with Sony Cat Cake ]]>

Late last week, old man Crecente had his birthday (he turned 58). If he had given me, Mike, Eliza or Florian a heads up, we could've pooled our moolah together and bought him something. Instead, we just made fun of him. Mercilessly.

A nice present could've been these cheese and chocolate cakes, featuring the white Sony cat Toro from Together, Everywhere. A special Toro event's being held at Odaiba in the Fuji Television building. A man-in-Toro-suit poses for pics with fans, and there's a special souvenir shop called "Travel with Toro." The shop is packed with Toro goodies like sweets, stuffed animals and cell phone straps. Those could've been yours Crecente!
