@crecente: As long as you were masticating and swallowing within your own abode I guess it's ok...of course, I'm concerned about Fahey listening to it... #modernwarfare2
Hhhmmmm Definitely considering picking one up then, even if it will be a while before I pick up the actual game. It's not like you can only use it with MW2 afterall... #modernwarfare2
Shame this isn't out on PC, might of picked one up.
Having a mic in front of your face can be a bit off putting sometimes.
Though I like using a headset for FPS, so I dunno...
Though I have an old mic headset lying about, hmm could be a good weekend project....
Edit: weekend project would involve turning a regular PC mic into a throat mic. not converting this to work on PC, this has the wrong type of connector for even a 2.5mm to 3.5mm to work. Hooray for propriety hardware.
@deanbmmv: Just do the simple thing, wear headphones and use a mic. I used to wear a cheap headset with a mic around my neck and my good headphones around my head.
The jack just looks like a mini jack. You should be fine connecting it to your computer with either a adapter, or just cut the wire and make two 1/4'' jacks. #modernwarfare2
@Shin: We sure it'd have to work?
360 controller just registers as a HID device, not a sound device. I't'd be annoyingly redundant too having to hook up a 360 control pad, then hook this up with the controller hanging off your neck while playing games. #modernwarfare2
@deanbmmv: It's the same mini-headphone jack cell-phones use, it just has an extra band on it to seperate the mic input from the shared ground. #modernwarfare2
@deanbmmv: Yes, but if you were to cut the wire you would see a wire for the mic, and a wire for the earpiece. A converter would do this too except be more expensive. #modernwarfare2
@deanbmmv: Yes, I would guess the wires would be pretty thin. My solution would be to buy a female minijack connector and wire it that way. Length can be fixed with a extender.
Either way, it won't be long till we see some better quality PC ones showing up. #modernwarfare2
@deanbmmv: all I can say is that 360 mics are recognised as usb audio on win xp when hooked up (or "paired" in my case as I have a wireless mic) to a 360 controller. #modernwarfare2
I still get a good chuckle out of the miniguns on the HUMVEEs. All we had were .50s and MK19s, I couldn't imagine rolling around with one of those. lol. #modernwarfare2
I refuse to buy this game unless they provide me with a gimp mask headware option... ... ... OK so I'm lying and it's a day one purchase for me. But a gimp mask would make this game rock so much harder you see.
Maybe have it as an unlockable option when you hit the MW2 equivalent of the gold cross!
@McLuvin: A gimp mask but why a gimp mask? Gimp masks should only be worn by people getting shafted into submission.....Oh right...yeah.... #modernwarfare2
@-MasterDex-: Just think how good that gimp mask would look, not to mention the irony, during the tea-bagging dance routine that seems to be written somewhere in the rules.
Oh look I just killed the last defender of the bomb in S&D... still got 20 seconds on the clock... 15 seconds of tea-bag-tastic action it is then. Woot!!
wow if i wouldn't have known better IW really wants to not sell very well seeing as they are retailing on steam other than America at a crazy shity price of 89.99(wtf are they thinking?) and doing the IWNET thing.
Hmm, just wondering, are there no body armor for the arms and legs? I mean, I hardly ever see body armor for the arms and legs even though medieval knights had full body armor. #modernwarfare2
@PoweredByHentai:
In real life, body armor weighs a good bit. Its already not much fun humping your vest and pack, trying to do so with leg and arm armor would be unbearable. Plus you need mobility in the joints. Anything strong enough to stop bullets or shrapnel would not give you enough mobility to do whatever you needed to do.
Medieval knights rode horses, negating having to run in armor. They also had problems fighting dismounted against light infantry with little to no armor. History tells us they also got stabbed through eye slit armor by archers with daggers more often then they would like to brag about. #modernwarfare2
@PoweredByHentai: I'm guessing it is because really these days, Armour does a Lot Less. Being Armoured is a lot less important than being able to Move out of the Way and AIM effectively, thing that armour on arms and legs can interfer with. Also arms and legs are much smaller targets without any vital organs in them. Sure if your legs is shot, you're probably screwed as you'll lose all movement, but you're not likely to be instantly dead, so can maybe be recovered and saved. #modernwarfare2
@Cptn.PaxtonAstypalaea(Corsair): Actually the US Army's Interceptor armor covers the groin, neck and upper arms as well. They found that being shot from the side could cause the bullet to ricochet within the body armor, shredding internal organs. So now they added those deltoid pads. Groin and neck seem to be added because they don't hurt mobility much at all and provide additional protection. #modernwarfare2
@infinitezero: Unless The History Channel lied to me, they had a pretty good demo of a full suit of Medieval armor from a museum that someone put on and was able to perform cartwheels in. Contrary to what people believe, a full suit of medieval armor weighs about the same as what NATO soldiers carry in their packs. [en.wikipedia.org]
@dogabutila: There are foot soldiers of a class called Men-At-Arms who are essentially full-body armored knights without a horse. The advantage of a fully armored knight on horseback is mostly due to the horse as the knight has a higher vantage point (almost all the time) against opposing infantry with which to swing down his weapons. Higher vantage point + predominant use of blunt weapons + gravity = world of pain.
Also, when you're fighting in an urban environment, you normally don't carry a backpack at all. The backpack is really only useful everywhere that isn't an urban/suburban/village environment.
@Cptn.PaxtonAstypalaea(Corsair): If you get shot in the femura or a major artery gets hit, there's a very real risk of you bleeding to death.
@PoweredByHentai: It pretty much comes down to the ability to sprint. If you can't, you're weighed down too much one way or another, and the fatties will be the first to go. #modernwarfare2

But yeah, with a neck mic I'd still use a headset. Just don't need a headset/mic combo one. #modernwarfare2
