My girlfriend and I played all season, but the algorithm for getting in is ridiculous - neither one of us made it into the mob, even though we had scores way above others and played more than other people. I chatted with one guy in that had gotten in the mob 6 times. Six!
It should be random, and accounts should only be allowed in once per season. I watched someone be The One and then was in the mob the following round.
When you realize you don't actually have a chance to get in unless you cheat, it takes the fun out of it. #1vs100

And, again, you just proved my point that it sucks ... you got in several times while most people didn't get in once. That's not fair. It should be a one shot thing per season.

Before I learned about the bug, I could play all of the extended play sessions I wanted and I never made it in once. After I learned about the bug, I could not play all week and still be in the mob within the first half hour of the live show.
With any luck, they'll have fixed it this time around. Cheating the system shouldn't work. #1vs100

That's not fun, microsoft!
Once I realized I had no chance of winning anything, even like 10 ms points, I lost interest. But I still played a bit, hoping for a chance to be the main guy or at least part of the 100. But then I was told the ridiculous requirements for such a thing to even POTENTIALLY happen, and just didn't bother. I was weeks behind and had no chance of catching up, and it just totally was no longer any fun.
The idea of a widespread tons-of-people-play gameshow video game complete with prizes is really awesome! But not when there isn't the slightest chance of getting in unless you played from the very start.

You know you can still win things and not be part of the mob or the one, right?
The top couple of players in the audience always go home (or in this case, stay home) with free ms points or arcade games. You just have a much much larger base of people competing against you for them. #1vs100

They use a lot of different criteria to choose the one and the mob. I got to be in the mob once and I was a pretty casual player of the game.
What I think is odd is the fact that you seem to think that everyone should get a chance to be the one or in the Mob. The reality of the situation is that there are too many players and so you have to perform well in order to get into the big show. I don't think that's unreasonable... I think that's life.

Yet I *never*got into the mob.
Now, I'm not saying - as you seem to be suggesting that Whitemage is saying - that "Aww gee whiz, everyone should have a go!" but it does seem stupidly calculated. I have seen on *at least* three occasions, somebody get picked as The One who had a gamerscore of zero. Zero! Now, I realise there's no achievements etc for 1vs100 yet, but a gamerscore of zero says that the person doesn't really play games, and so is unlikely to have put in huge amounts of effort into this one to up their chances of being picked. That's not a certainty of course, just an assumption, but it did frustrate me in ways I can't quite articulate...
And the number of times that The One fumbled a pathetically easy question - sometimes even the first one of the round - I couldn't say, but it was a LOT. And I know the old saying "It's only easy if you know the answer", but when you get something like (and I'm making this up as an example, but it WAS this level of stupidity) "Who was Prime Minister of Britain in WW2?" and the player ignores the answers "Winston Churchill" and "George Washington" and plumps for "Emperor Ming The Merciless"... you've GOT to wonder if the selection process isn't somewhat 'faulty'!

Lots of the zero gamerscore were people on second accounts trying to be the one again, using the same exploit, because you can only be the one once per season.
Look for that to be fixed this time around so you should have a better sampling of people that actually play it straight making it into the mob.

I want something like this to be on my ps3 - i have buzz and that is good for get togethers but not when i want to actually win real prizes.
The thing is; do you have to pay to play this game or what? I know it says it's a Beta, does this mean that it will get a commercial release and you will have to pay for the real game?? #1vs100
