If you were expecting to get your hands on a copy of Final Fantasy XIII for the PLAYSTATION 3 this year, I'm here to smack some sense in to you. It's not happening. IGN is reporting that Square-Enix president Yoichi Wada has put the game's Japanese release date sometime after March 2008, the end of the company's fiscal year.

I can't imagine anyone in touch with reality was seriously expecting FF XIII to ship in an English speaking territory this year. It looks like those of us outside of Japan will be waiting on this one for at least another year. More time to work on my Vaan costume! Michael McWhertor
