Splatoon 2 Coming To The Nintendo Switch

The freshest shooter of the last few years will be making a splash on the Switch, Nintendo announced today. Expect new weapons, new hair styles, and more importantly, new threads for your squid kid. Excellent.

Here’s the trailer:

The first Splatoon debuted on the Wii U, and it featured a unique combat system: instead of shooting bullets, the game instead asked players to shoot colorful ink at one another. The same basic premise applies here, except it seems evident that Nintendo wants to push the sequel, Splatoon 2, as more of an eSport, requiring serious consideration and intense play. I’m just hoping they’re putting that much effort into making sure we can create stylish characters, too—that was kinda the best part of Splatoon 1!

Like the first game, Splatoon 2 plans to have many updates post-launch, including new maps.
