Hey Kids, it's that time again! Strange Request for Information time!
Previous I asked in PS3s could play import PS1 games, but was assured they could not by the majority of people. Bummer.
So I dug up my old PS1 back at my parents place, since I rediscovered my old PS1 import game playing disc and spring, and will bring that back with me. However, I noticed that my old AV cable I have for it is an old aerial kind. I'm not sure my Plasma Screen has an Aerial socket, and I'm not sure I want to use it if it does. So I thought to myself, "I may need a new cable..." One quick search later, and Amazon seems to be trying to convince me that PS2 cables work with a PS1. I currently have a PS2 hooked up via a PS2 component cable.
My question is... If I take the AV out of my PS2 and plug in my PS1, will that actually work? Or is this fantasy? I never got very fair in my copy of Parasite Eve 1, and Final Fantasy Tactics, and I don't think I even touched Brave Fencer Musashi and Dragon Warrior VII (wait 7? wow, they must have really slowed production after this game...), so I really want to try them now...
For bonus points, can anyone confirm the following... A PS1 Light Gun will not work with a Plasma Screen, true or false? Also, the PS3 has a light gun, right? Though as far as I can tell, it doesn't seem to be used for much... I'm going to make a weird guess, and assume they haven't set it up so that you can use PS3 Guncon for a PS1 game played on your PS3? Just checking, as otherwise, me old Ghoul Panic and Point Blank are going to be a little useless until I get a house big enough for two TVs, one being an older Fat one... #questions #retro #PS1 #speakup(Edit comment)
@Cptn.PaxtonAstypalaea(ColonialMarine): I'm 99% sure that the PS2 AV cable does work on the PS1 but it is the PS1 cable that will not work on the PS2. I found this out while transferring all of my stuff from one house to another.
