With two of Sony Online Entertainment's massively multiplayer online games already PlayStation 4 bound, it makes sense that the company's ambitious EverQuest reboot would get similar treatment. Speaking with GamerHubTV, SOE president John Smedley says he can't wait to see it happen.
This generation of consoles is looking to be the most MMO-heavy yet. The Wii U has Dragon Quest X in Japan. The PlayStation 4 launched with SOE's DC Universe Online as a free-to-play MMO, with PlanetSide 2 on the way. Final Fantasy XIV is coming. The Elder Scrolls Online is as well. Why not EverQuest Next?
While Smedley doesn't come right out and announce the game during this interview with GamerHubTV (via CVG), he does say this:
"We haven't announced, technically, that we're putting it on PlayStation 4, but it's fair to say that we're a Sony company so, you know, I say that with a smile on my face. I can't wait to see it on the PS4."
I can't wait to see it either.
