And the battle continues. First Silicon Knights decided to sue Epic. Then Epic decided to slap Silicon Knights with a suit of their own in response. Now Silicon Knights is upping the ante even further, firing back at Epic's countersuit with something surely known in the legal world as a countercountersuit (the double dog dare of the legal world). Epic also said in its August counterclaim that it is in its own best interest to fully support UE3 licensees in order to capture subsequent licensing deals, so, according to Epic, it wouldn't make sense to neglect or "sabotage" UE3 customers...[but] the profits Epic assured for itself by having Gears of War as the marquee title for the Xbox 360 dwarf any gain Epic would receive from Silicon Knights purchasing a subsequent licenses for the Engine.Oohh, is that a typo spotted in the Silicon Knights response? If so, this case has been broken wide open.
