Midway Delivers A Million Armageddons

Midway has announced that Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, the final last-gen chapter in the long-running fighting series and secret Jay Tee murder simulator, has shipped over a million units since its release last October. Joining it at this prestigious milestone is Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, the only MK spin-off game worth half a damn.

Now I know this is great news and high shipping numbers indicate relatively high sales, but how many have actually sold? It's becoming bigger news in the gaming industry lately to pack up your stuff and move it to a store than actually sell it. I want to see sales numbers, not how many copies could potentially end up in a bargain bin down the line. Sure the numbers look good, but really.

I could spit in a million boxes, mail them to Wal-Mart, and then issue a press release that states, "Michael Fahey Ships One Million Saliva Units to Retail". Would they sell? Of course they would, but that's beside the point.
