Sherlock Holmes Versus Cthulhu

sherlockholmes.jpgEver hear a game concept and just get chills without even seeing a screenshot or knowing anything about the game's storyline or gameplay? Try this one:

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened combines the eerie mysticism of H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos with the mystery-solving powers of the great fictional detective - Sherlock Holmes.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened is a 3D adventure game of the point and click variety that pits the greatest detective of all time against one of the most sinister evils ever conceived by fiction, and it is coming to North American PCs this fall thanks to CDV Software Entertainment.

It's Sherlock Holmes versus the Old Gods! How freaking geektacular is that? Hell, let's toss Doctor Who in there and make it a threesome. Not Tennant though - he's too pretty.

CDV to Publish Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened in North America

Sherlock Holmes to explore dark corners and ancient spaces this fall

The world's greatest detective is about to encounter unspeakable horrors and an unimaginable mystery, as CDV Software Entertainment USA announced a publishing agreement for Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened for PC. In The Awakened, players will take on the role of Sherlock Holmes in a fantastic new mystery involving dark secrets and unholy terrors. The game is set for a September 2007 release.

In development by Frogwares, Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened combines the eerie mysticism of H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos with the mystery-solving powers of the great fictional detective - Sherlock Holmes. The Awakened is the first fully 3D Sherlock Holmes game, and will feature rich graphics and detailed environments. Fans of the mystery genre will feel right at home with the point-and-click interface as they explore multiple distinctly chilling environments while solving mysteries and completing challenging and creative puzzles. With 60 unique characters roaming the game world, it will be difficult to tell who is friend or foe in this, Sherlock Holmes' most challenging, and horrifying, adventure.
