According to web tracking company Hitwise, the Xbox 360 has overtaken the Wii as the most searched console on the web (for the first time since the 360s launch). At first we assumed the number implied an aura of infamous as well as famous, due to the major hardware problems we've seen from the 360. But when analyzing the top Xbox 360 searches (as in this top ten chart), we don't really see searches regarding the topic. Meanwhile, when searching "price drop," the Xbox 360 and PS3 are essentially tied in their relevance, so that is also not the primary factor. Instead, it's clearly general interest that's spurring demand.

But seeing as the 7th most popular search was for "free Xbox," these numbers may or may not translate to actual dollars.
