LittleBigPlanet Faces Worldwide Recall For Qur'an References

Click to viewThe European delay of LittleBigPlanet we mentioned earlier has blossomed into a worldwide recall of the game due to passages from the Islamic holy text Qur'an being included in the background music in one of the levels.

"During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet, it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur'an," admitted the company in a statement. "We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologise for any offence that this may have caused."

These Nintendo Pins Could KILL YOU

Between 2004 and 2007, Nintendo were selling some small, character-adorned pins at both their Redmond HQ and Nintendo World Store. Little metal Nintendo characters, little sharp pin, you stick them on your jacket/bag/hat. Standard stuff. Oh, except for the fact they contain unsafe levels of lead. Before you plan a trip to your doctor's/lawyer's office, however, note that they're only dangerous if you swallow them, not wear them, so unless you've been snacking on lapel pins between Smash Bros rounds, you'll probably live to see the morning. If you are snacking on them, though, and would like pins less likely to cause serious health issues, Nintendo are recalling them and offering free replacements. Details below. More »

Criterion Recalls 360 Burnout Bogart Update

Criterion Games is in the process of recalling the recently released Bogart update for the Xbox 360 version of Burnout Paradise, with all updated version due to be rolled back by this Friday. The recall is due to a issue in the patch that cause the frame rate of the game to suffer, noticeably stuttering at high speed, which really are the only speeds in Burnout you need to concern yourself with. The patch is due to be reissued next week, with all of the promised fixes in place. Meanwhile the Criterion blog continues to count down to the PlayStation 3 release of the Bogart patch, slated for release tomorrow. Kudos to Criterion for rolling things back rather than having players suffer through issues while waiting for a patch for the patch. More »

At last the saga of the defective SNK vs Capcom Card Fighters DS is at an end. The exchange program web page over at SNK Playmore has gone live, and owners of the card with the game-stopping glitch can now send in their broken copies and have them miraculously replaced with all new, all complete-able versions of the card battler. Card Fighters Recall Update

Well it's been almost a month and a half since SNK Playmore released the broken version of SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters for the DS, which included a game breaking bug that kept the game from being completed. Then on May 10th they announced a recall that would get underway at a later date. Today, more details on that date have emerged as Mark from SNK Playmore, who issued a statement to the anxiously waiting masses. More »

The non-Sony accessory gets hot enough to cause the battery's plastic to melt and poses as a fire threat. Site Calls for Recall of Madden 06 PSP

Console giant Sony has issued a recall on AC adaptors for its slimline PlayStation 2. The AC adaptors overheat and may burn users. The recall is a "precautionary" measure and at press time we haven't heard any reports of gamers' hands being barbecued. Sony set up a site to aid with the free recall process.
