This morning's giant pink wake-up call comes courtesy of European publisher Nobolis. They just announced Hello Kitty Daily for the Nintendo DS, coming to Europe in October. It's not so much a game as it is a personal digital assistant, allowing girls and ridicule-resistant boys to keep track of important dates, keep up with their spending money, take notes, manage contacts, and even calculate numbers, all with that trademark Hello Kitty flair. This is not a joke. The Hello Kitty Xbox is apparently so rare that it was only thought to be an April Fool's joke. Turns out it's very real. Limited to 500 units, the console was available only to customers who purchased a US $5000 television at one specific retailer in Singapore. The console came with a Crystal colored Xbox controller and a copy of Hello Kitty Mission Rescue. NaturalMotion is currently working on a new next-gen football game called Backbreaker for next year. One of the features of the game will be the ability to assign your own colors, logos and names to your team's players. Yes, I need to recharge my DS Lite. Ryan Payton at Kojima Productions was kind enough to pass along Lunar Knights for me to take a look at. I'm a few hours in, and I'm really digging the title. It's slick and polished, just like what you'd expect from Hideo Kojima and co. Music's great as are the anime cut scenes. Lunar Knights is a dungeon crawler (which I dig) with vampire slayers. The game takes place in the Boktai universe and is the forth installment in the series — A non-sequential one at that, apparently. Out is the solar sensor of previous installments. And in its place, touch screening and whistling into the mic. All in all, solid title that shapes up to be more than a diversion for Kojima while he plucks away at MGS 4 (and for everyone else waiting for it!). People in Kotaku-land pick Lunar Knights up? Hey, girls! You like pink things, right? Sure, me and Flynn may have rose-colred DS Lites, but we are men and only men by default. The pink stuff, I mean come on, is for girls. Sony Computer Entertainment today announced that they would be bringing three new colors to Japan's PSPs. Pink, blue and silver will join the white and black PSPs already being sold there.
