2K Sports is offering a cool million to the winner of a public, 8-person Major League Baseball 2K12 tournament… this April. From the MLB's Opening Day on April 4th (definitely learned something just now) to the end of that cheerfully prank-filled month, athletes (read: gamers) will be clawing their way to the top of the leaderboards, where a spot in the tourney awaits.

Bravo, 2K Sports. Last year, we had to trust that Brian Kingrey had accomplished the exploit of winning a Perfect Game—and his own million dollars—behind closed doors before anyone else had (behind their own closed doors). This year, we will have sweat and passion, ripe for the spectator's plucking.

Major League Baseball 2K12 releases on March 6th, 2012. Those not lavishing their attention on Commander Shepard can start sharpening their skills for a shot at millionairedom.
