It really depends on the game, I suppose. I don't know, I'm a huge fan of save states, but they also streamline the experience significantly. I can't imagine playing some NES games without save state abuse, though. Namely RPGs where you saved before a dungeon and if you failed anywhere in that dungeon, you restarted. Grueling.
But I strongly disliked the "Save point every five minutes" formula of FFXIII. I mean, that was a case of, "If you're gonna let us save this often, why not just let us save everywhere?"
The game doesn't exactly make it very hard to do so. Heck, servers can even opt out of verifying accounts with minecraft.net. But the fact remains, I wouldn't have paid for minecraft if I hadn't experienced it first.
@Raso719: how is this any different than it's ever been. I don't know how far back you're thinking, but I distinctly remember when Nintendo Power was the only gaming magazine that mattered.
What I was going to say has already been echoed by every commenter below me, so I'm going to say the only thing I have left: Not everyone likes the "Apple" look. I'm glad Nintendo is going for its own look this time around.
@Warmo161: Why would it be halved? I have yet to see a technical explanation of 3D vision halving the graphical capabilities of hardware. I'd say a 30% penalty would be a conservative estimate, considering it's only rendering the same resources twice, opposed to two different resources.
@Taku128: Not to be beating a dead meme, but you must be new here. You're more likely to be banned for baiting ("can't wait to be banned...") than for being critical of the site itself, honestly.
I hope this phone does well. My hatred for Sony is only eclipsed by my hatred for Apple, and I love Android, so today the enemy of mine enemy has an ally in the coming showdown. I guess Google thought the same thing. :)
