Got an email today from Intuit... just a heads up that those that are still hanging about on Quicken Online, they've chosen to pull the plug on the service on August 29th. Unfortunately, they aren't importing any data over like they were originally planning, so if you want to keep your data, you have to export it to a CSV file. I hope this helps!
@resvrgam: This newfound straighforward-ness is kinda refreshing coming from Ubisoft. Sorta like there's no use dancing around the issue, so let's just call it what it is.
@eleraama: Even if you don't authorize an application to access your information, if a friend of yours authorizes an application, by default, that application has access to much of your data through your friend.
This link ([www.facebook.com]) will take you directly to the page in question, but you can also find it by going to Facebook | Account | Privacy Settings | Applications and Websites | What your Friends Can Share About You. (Yes, that is a lot of clicks... but it's there.)
I hope this helps!
EDIT: Added back in delimiters which for some reason got removed previously.
@DaveyNC: Dunno about everyone, but from my experience as an on-campus college student, Voice has been wonderful for keeping in touch with people... only a couple of minor nags here and there.
My campus doesn't allow long distance calls without a calling card, so I simply got a GVoice number with the local area code and use that to dial long distance. I think my Mom's happy with it because it saves on cell minutes... and of course I call home more often. ^_^
Though, admittedly, the system would be much more awesome if I could disable my dorm room's voicemail (I can't receive calls on my dorm phone because campus voicemail intercepts the call before GVoice Voicemail).
And, I do agree with you, though... offering GVoice to those seeking employment could be a rather nice gesture.
lol... He tried to kill me me with a forklift... HUZZAH!
Also, might as well toss in that Telltale's got a deal where if you pre-order "Nelson Tethers: Puzzle Agent," everything else in your cart is 50% off. The game's only $10, so if you're looking to pick up other things from Telltale, this might be a good deal.
Of course, they announce this deal two days after I buy Sam & Max Season 3... best timing EVER on my part. =/
Kingdom Hearts. Come on... where's KH3, already?!? =P
The Mario RPGs are also pretty solid. A true sequel to Legend of the Seven Stars would be awesome. Also, looking forward to Mario Galaxy 2, so I guess that counts.
Oh good... the bill is just as ambiguous and silly as I remember it from five years ago.
Really, so far as I remember, this bill is flawed on three fronts:
1.The description is pretty darn vague. I bet one could make a case that Super Mario Bros. would be a "Violent Video Game" according to the above description.
2. Who determines whether a game is "violent" under the terms of this bill?
3. That silly "18" sticker that supposed to take up a 1/4th of the cover or something. Really?
Look, legislators, if you're really insistent on passing bills such as this, you should do two things:
1. Use the current ESRB system to your advantage. Use that as a delimiter... don't dilute the market with yet another ratings system when the one we've got works perfectly fine.
2. Apply the standards fairly to all mediums of creative expression. If you're going to legislate sales of video games, it would seem fair to legislate movie ticket sales, no? Oh, wait... the movie lobby is huge in good ol' California. Never mind.
@RockyRan: If they were to release a LBP2 on the PS3, I wouldn't be surprised. It's a huge IP for Sony.
Wonder what they're going to add in, though, that they can't add in via patch or DLC....
Tripped across this on Consumerist... thought someone might get a kick out of it...

@LukeDukem: Ben Folds is copying the OP. The original post was made by some guy named "Merton," hence this being called "Ode to Merton." The OP claims he isn't Ben Folds.
Unless... it's like Jekyll and Hyde... OMG INTERNET CONSPIRACY!!!1!
@Jatc93: Yehh... my memory's a little sketchy, but maybe they never actually drew a Graveler in the show (or at least the first couple of seasons)? Otherwise, they just fail.
Wonder who screwed up, though... the original production studio or 4Kids... =/
Gah! Darn it, Squenix, every time someone brings this up, a whole sector of fanboys cry in anguish. Seriously, think of the fanboys (and our ears)!
Meh, wouldn't be adverse to a remake, I guess... because I feel there are many out there that haven't played the original, seeing as it's been out of print for so long... but I almost feel like the creative talents of these directors could be better spent on a new property.
Meh, 16GB is large enough to get critics to quiet down, yet not large enough where Microsoft loses their vested stake in selling absurdly overpriced X360 hard drives. At least, that's how I see it.
Edit: Now that I think of it, though... it's certainly better than those memory units, for portability purposes....
Forget the fact that this guy pulled a jerk move... what the hell is this Big Brother crap doing on cars?!? Are they disclosing the existence of this technology, 'cause if not, they've got no right putting that on the cars that they're selling.
Got Silverlight for Netflix and, honestly, I kinda like it. Dunno if it's the site technology or Flash itself, but it always seems to me that Silverlight runs video playback much smoother than Flash, which likes to hiccup and often plays back choppy on Hulu.
Kinda wish that the internet could start moving to more open standards, though... =/
