... and so it begins. One of your first posts is about your inability to post? Welcome to the community, I am sure you will be a welcome addition.
Populous would make an awesome Live Arcade game. I played the crap out of that game years, and years.... and years ago. Its one of the reasons I keep giving Molyneux a chance!
We define things so other people can understand what we are talking about. When someone says "pizza in a jar" I immediatly understand what they are talking about. They have defined their item with a perfect description. If you ask me if I want a popsicle and then offer me a watermelon with a BLT inside of it, I will punch you.

You need to be careful when attempting to define a particular thing. Is stuffed pizza not a pizza, because it isn't flat? how about pizza rolls? Are they not pizza because they are rolled? Is the definition of pizza the flavor, or the shape?

Is a man with no legs and no arms any less a man because he doesn't fit the general definition of two arms - two legs?

How can you think this argument has any merit? Cars, toasters, refridgerators, bicycles, and novels are not supported indefinatly.

Books go out of print, cars manufacturers no longer build parts for your mid 80 Chevette. So, does that mean that you should complain when you finally decide to sack up and by the chevette? No. It means you should have bought it within the decade it was being made. If you snooze, you lose.

Same with games. You are mad they are not supporting a game that you never gave them money to play? Tool.

John Steakley, Armor.

One of my favorite novels, and my father who was in Military Intelligence, also loved it.

"Never thought of Death as an agile dude..."

Thats funny, because death catches everyone.

100 internets for recognizing this:

The Player: We're more of the love, blood, and rhetoric school. Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see.

G: Is that what people want?

The Player: It's what we do.

Perfectly said. A good article gets you interested, but a great article keeps you interested. A good editing by the editors might have focused this a bit before allowing it to go to print, so to speak.
Honestly, I love the design, but don't think I could ever use it. I have an unbendable rule that I shall never wear a phone, either with a holster or a clip. If I can't put it in my pocket, I will not own it. Sorry G-Shock, I am not going to walk around with that brick in my suit pants.
Along with many others, I started to enjoy this article, before realizing that I was starting to wonder if it was going to end. I am not saying its a bad thing to have long articles, but they should be able to keep your interest the whole time.

I think this would have been a great series of articles, like a series of conversations. I enjoy the back and forth Tim has with others in his articles, but I also don't want to feel like I am watching the entire Roots miniseries when i just want to see an episode of Cheers.

Other than that, great article, and don't lose your voice.

I know, and it makes me kind of sad. If you are an writer for an internet blog, you need to have a little bit thicker skin, and the blog itself does as well. It its just out and out name calling, bannish it. If it disagrees with your point for a reason, leave it and let the readers decide if that post is wrong.
I am glad that you have spoken up as to why you did not black out today, Mr. Totilo, but I am kind of disheartened by the amount of posts that have been moved to #complaints because they disagree with Kotaku's reasoning. I usually defend Kotaku's position on various things, but I think its a bit disengenuos to post an explanation, and move folks who disagree with your reason.

I am all for moderation, as I do think the level of care that many posters use has gone down her at Kotaku, as well as other Gawker sites. So, don't get me wrong when I say I am all for moderators, but please, don't silence your critics on posts about being a part of the community. If someone complains in the Zelda post about the writers politics, go ahead and knock yourself out in sending them to the #cornfield, but don't do it in a post like this. It seems like you are trying to hide something.

Other than that, keep up the good work.

Friends it is then!
I would actually be happy to pay the "Apple Tax" if I knew it meant that I was buying completely American made. As it stands, I stand to pay more for the name, and nothing else.
Oh, I agree. I am just trying to not have any ideas as to what the actual story should be, though I do have some hopes. I just don't want to be disappointed!
Its like MTV2! I get it though. When something gets popular, it grows and expands, sometimes past what its original intent was. I am not saying this is what happened with Kotaku, but there is always a chance that when you add something past the original popular thing, that people will bitch. I like the option to be able to go games only, but honestly, the "culture" articles are what I really like the most. I can search for reviews on specific games when I really want to learn something, but living in the midwest, I really have no access to Cosplay, so it works for me. Thanks!
I still hate that women have the right to vote, and that I can't buy a decent black and white t.v. I just can't seem to let go of the past, and will continue to complain even when it serves no real purpose. You and I should be best friends!
Ah, how cute. He thought this would stop internet complaining!
Or the Best Buy flyer on Sundays.
