I know :P I was just joking around. Seems Kotaku didn't upload my image the first time around either.
Read my comment again. I never said I specifically would throw tomatoes, or that everyone should. I simply said, based on the information I provided, others may redirect theirs if they believe it would be more justified to do so.

I'm well aware that Apple products have their advantages, and I respect that. I'm using one right now, after all.

Also, why the fuck are line breaks so utterly broken in Kotaku comments. My entire previous post looks like a mound of barf. *sigh* Time to start doing manual line breaks.
I'm a PC fanboy? Since when?

*typing this reply from Mac OS X*

First of all, the information I stated above was stated neutrally. It's objective fact. You can research it yourself. A similary-configured MacBook Pro 17" is $750 more than a Razer Naga. You cannot dispute the truth.

I did not say whether this made it better or worse, nor did I endorse a particular side. I simply stated (and I quote) that it is "up to you to decide where you stand based on this information". And some people will gladly take the $750 plunge if it means getting a Mac instead of a PC. I do not judge these people. They know what they like and want, and it is their choice what to do with their money.

Second of all, I find your definition of fanboyism disagreeable.

Fanboyism
Assuming personal taste equates to objective truth and admonishing others for disagreements in this regard.

Your implied definition of anti-fanboyism
Liking everything equally for the sake of neutrality, regardless of personal taste, like a mindless robot.

My definition of anti-fanboyism
Embracing one's personal taste, but being loving, accepting, and tolerant of the differing tastes of others.

I have my preferences. My preferences lie in PC. That does not make me a fanboy. I don't judge those who own Macs. They like Macs. That's why they have one. I like PC. That's why I own one. We can coexist, we can be friends, we don't have to be dickheads to each other just because of something so inconsequential as taste in platform. This is what separates me from the irrational, polarizing zealotry of a mindless fanboy.

Just because I am tolerant of the tastes of others does not mean I refuse to acknowledge those of my own.

"Hearted. And not for Valentine's Day."

Oh. Well, okay then, I guess...

._.

How the fuck is my personal taste bullshit? My personal taste is based on what I know that I like uniquely as an individual. If I bite into an apple and an orange, and I like the apple and I hate the orange, then I know that I like apples. My taste buds cannot bullshit me.

It's the same with the frame rate issue. I've tried both, I've been regularly exposed to both, my computer can handle both, I can switch between the two at any time, and based on years of exposure, I know what both of them are like, and I know which one I like better. I like 30 FPS for cinematic single-player, and I like 60 FPS for competitive gameplay. On some days, I'll even framelimit my multiplayer games, just because it looks cooler. And you're telling me that this, my personal taste, my personal preference, a natural biological predisposition that I'm born and nurtured with, one that I can't change of my own free will, is "bullshit"? Why? Just because it differs from the cultural norm? Just because it differs from what you like? Utter brilliance.
-
You define "right" based on your own personal tastes, without taking account of anyone else who might have tastes that deviate from yours. It's like you saying that everyone should like what you like because your definition of "good" is the only definition that exists. Do you realize how utterly flawed this reasoning is? Subjective taste is not objective truth, and it seems you can't tell the difference.
-
I am not saying that 30 FPS is "objectively better" than 60 FPS. I'm saying that I like it more. There is a gigantic difference.
-
Also, games have motion blur too, and I like 30 FPS with motion blur more than 60 FPS with or without motion blur. Especially in BF3, which has amazing motion blur. It just looks cooler to me; more dramatic, more intense. If you disagree, if you and the rest of your internet bandwagon like 60 FPS more, then that's fine, congratulations, you are an individual with your own preferences. Stick to your 60 FPS and have fun, but don't tell me I'm wrong for liking what I like, because I would never do the same to you; such a claim is completely irrational and utter bullshit.
Fun fact: a similarly-configured MacBook Pro (upgrade to 250GB SSD, 8GB RAM) will run you $750 more and still be less powerful than the Razer Blade.

Up to you to decide where you stand based on this information. But from my perspective, if you think Razer is cheating people out of their money, there are worse targets to tomato.

...But it's necessary to give the second one context.
Kotaku never said there was any conflict in the first sentence, only in the second, relating to the longevity of touchscreens.
Because in order to keep prices competitive, they'd have to operate at a gigantic loss, which undermines the entire purpose of any corporation. It'd be ludicrously expensive and would take a MUCH longer time to get products to customers. You cannot expect any corporation, which is created with the inherent purpose of generating profit, to willingly accept a loss purely for the sake of its customers. It might as well be handing out iPhones for free.

I don't think people really understand how much more money it'd cost and how much less efficient it would be to not outsource labor.

Yeah, they definitely should have gone with something like printing codes on receipts.
And just because you're backed by your so-called experience on the internet doesn't make yours any stronger either. If you think it does, I think you should reconsider who you call "delusional". All I see is arrogance, pure and simple. Jumping to assumptions based on absolute logic backed by no real hard evidence, and believing those shallow assumptions make you completely right and everyone else delusional, is a classic example of delusion.

Your opinion is not a fact. Quit acting like it is. There will always be people who will disagree with you for perfectly logical or legitimate reasons, much of which can be based on subjective taste, which you have no control over and have absolutely no place attempting to change. Learn to accept the fact that not everyone in the world shares your tastes.

Since you're so damn insistent on throwing the bandwagon at me, try scrolling up. I am not alone in my opinion, and the general consensus is split almost 50-50 between your stance and mine.

"The internet", he says.

Hubris.

You "can tell", huh? That's funny, because I'm primarily a PC gamer. My computer can run most games at max settings and 120FPS, and I find myself frame-limiting most of my games to 30, unless I'm playing multiplayer. And in my opinion, playing at 60 does in fact make it less cinematic to me, even if it doesn't to you.

Hubris. The world doesn't revolve around you.

Am I the only one who actually prefers a stable 30 FPS framerate vs a higher one? For me it just seems to make everything look a lot more cinematic.

At the very least, I prefer 30 FPS during cutscenes and 60 FPS during gameplay, but a permanent upgrade to 60 FPS across the entire game just does not cut it for me.

120Hz TVs look so unnatural.

*high-pitched fangirl squee*
Or you're just gonna get people with opinions who aren't really wrong, at least in respect to their personal tastes.
I don't think they even use cloth physics, so... nope.avi
She's also Emma Emmerich, Bastila Shan from KOTOR, Samus Aran in the GameCube Metroid series, and Jennifer Mui from Mercs 1 and 2. She's done a LOT of VG voice over work, and those are just what I can name off the top of my head.
