I would love to give my brother one HELL of a Christmas present this year!
This would be excellent for that one xbox-owning person who doesn't already own Reach...for the love of empty wallets, pick me!
@Treize: Other than that, spot-on review for an excellent movie. You're a busy man, Totilo, so I'll assume that your typing monkeys did his via dictation.
One of the generic used car dealerships down the street JUST rebranded to Lincoln-Mercury like 3 weeks ago. Poor timing.

I can't believe Mercury has even survived this long on nothing but model prostitution and the hope that buyers are blind idiots. The best thing about Merc in the last 30-40 years is the song. Shame that wasn't theirs either!
I remember reading that "Revolution" was dropped because it was difficult to pronounce in some languages. I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned it! I always preferred Revolution and would have been quite happy with my Nintendo "Rev".
Accutane: INCREDIBLY dry skin. As in, my lips and the backs of my hands were just one giant painful scab.
Not to be a buzzkill, but what did you expect? Any legislation would put a damper on the sales/performance of all of those companies involved. We bitch and moan when there's a negative article concerning gaming, and then we celebrate when they ask gamers if their hobby should be controlled/legislated (or in this case, their job.) I'm as excited about this result as anyone else, but I don't think it means a lot. If you ask a fanboy if they like their console, what else would they say?

Before I get flamed, no, I didn't read the full report.

Not to nitpick, but orbital MAC cannons don't fire lasers. According to the books, they fire massive, magnetically-accelerated slugs of superheated metal (tungsten or something like that?). I wonder if it will be portrayed as such in the game, or if it will be a laser? I know that Bungie is pretty specific about Halo canon. I didn't really take notice in the E3 gameplay video.
@ConsumerAdvocacy1010: I work for Commerce (Harrisburg region) and let me just say, the passbook printers are crap. Obviously I haven't seen your passbooks, but I doubt it has anything to do with the teller. No matter how you put it in the printer, it prints incorrectly and is never aligned right.
After something like a year and a half, watching all my friends' 360s get the RRoD and starting to believe mine was ...impervious? Nah, that was just luck. Fired up CoD4 and got pwned(tm) so hard I earned myself some RRoD. Now I too get to experience the joy of a month-and-a-half-long repair wait. Time to dust off the Wii?
@kent_f: @jackal888: Local co-op? Better hope you both have Gold accounts. Check Tycho's second rant from today [www.penny-arcade.com]
Hmmm...That looks like Aerith. Is she dead? WHAT? NOOOOOOOO!!!
Anyone notice that extra achievement in the list? I have all 1000 points and some of my friends do also, but there's one more achievement sitting at the bottom of the list for a few months now. Is there some zero point achievement that I didn't get?
I finally get to play Psychonauts!

Since these are simple emulated ports, I'm going to take the risk of sounding like an achievement whore and assume that there are no achievements for these games.

I really appreciate and respect this guy for doing this and trying to clear up some common misconceptions and frustrations. However, I do have an issue with #27. When I was looking for my Wii, I did just that, calling all the GameStop and EB stores around me every day. After a few days I started getting extremely short answers, and in response to the "when do you get your shipments" question, the answer became "we never know when it's going to come in". Any store that gets regular shipments tends to at least know the day when they usually show up. I understand that the quality and attitudes of people working at these places can vary pretty wildly, but I think if I'm following the recommended procedure then I shouldn't be treated with contempt and lies to get me off the phone.
I got my Wii at WalMart. The only gaming store I use now is a GameCrazy an hour away with employees that have become good friends.
Isn't that the car that also ran into one of the human-driven cars on the parking lot test course? "Realtime stereoscopic sensor data" must not include "what's directly in front of me".

My prediction:

Sony is going to sell a bunch of 60Gig PS3s when everyone realizes that the 40 Gigs have no BC. Once that stock is all out, they will either introduce ANOTHER new SKU, or just implement BC as a pay-to-play download, based on "updated customer feedback" (aka systems actually selling decently due to fear of no BC in the future).

I was one of those people who had every intention of buying a PS3 "in a few years when the price comes down". Looks like I won't have one at all, since I can't afford the current price point and all the good systems (BC capable) will be sold out eventually. I imagine those good systems will be available for a pretty penny on ebay eventually, though.
