All I am pointing out is that there are plenty of people who would be interested in such topic but will find this much length of article a bit too long on sites such as Kotaku.
Is that so hard to agree on? I even pointed out that there will be people reading such article. So what's the big deal?
Also, the content of this particular article, does it require this much length? Really?
They are just projecting virtual game elements against video backdrop.
That's not really augmented reality in my book since there is 0 level of real life detection and interaction going on between real life and virtual elements.
We can joke about the short attention span of the internet culture etc...
But the truth is... blog based news site such as Kotaku is where people mostly come to get bursts of news blips. It becomes a tremendous conflict of interest when there is such interesting article like this one buried with other news blips.
I am sure there are people who are willing to spend time to read it. But there are plenty of people who just can't afford time to do it regardless of the interest.
But that doesn't excuse the evil fascist view these guys had (although Mishima's view was arguably premature and put to end due to his infamous harakiri stunt).
*Shudder...*
I would love to see one of these vans cruising down the streets of Korea or China.
How about just giving us the same awesome Japanese cover?
:(
But Skylander is by far more involving and well thought out than most of kiddy games out there. Yes, it is enveloped by marketing tactics of toy tie-ins and what not. But I was pleasantly surprised how deep the game gets.
It's easy to pick up and play. But has a huge replay value with power ups and leveling up as well as character varieties.
It might not be a game for most of Kotaku audience. But I think Activision did a great job with it.
snif...
It's not just mindless children's game. It actually has some depth and progress as well as replay values.
Obviously, it involves collecting those figures...
I am highly interested in what the sales number is.
I think this is sort of things where you have to show examples of how it can work in actual gameplay vid.
And actually address variables that might go against your theory.
Can your idea work theoretically?
Yes.
Is it as versatile as game controller or mouse+keyboard? That needs to be proven.
More than that, you will be working with fixed mindsets that are decades old when it comes to UX design or UI design (as you have indicated with your experience with your dad). Even with your dad, it took him some time to actually see your MBA at work to finally "get it".
No amount of words will convince anyone with issues like this.
Also, I think you can apply "less is more" approach to some of your articles.
They should just drop the name Korea and call themselves "North Joseon". they are completely different countries at this point.
