Ugh, yeah, I hate when people like stuff I like, it makes me feel less unique and individual.
Seriously, get off your high horse and realize that just because you like something and it gains widespread notoriety, you deserve higher recognition for liking it than anyone else. You weren't the first person to play Minecraft.
Because Nintendo will release a cheaper, better version next year and everyones aware of it. I don't particularly enjoy the 3DS, and I've always been a pretty serious Nintendo fan. I know the minute it gets a new Mario game, I'll be singing a different tune, only under the condition that shit isn't still $250.
Nintendos whole concept in the past was to innovate, but at a reasonable price. They're charging the same amount at launch for their handheld system as they did for their last console at launch. And for what? Two screens, again. Did anyone really really enjoy having two screens last time? Did you ever really play a game that utilized both screens in a way that made the experience better than it would have been with one touch screen? And 3D, which most people are just turning off due to the headaches induced.
Nintendo must be under the impression that they're impervious to failure after the massive success of the DS and the Wii. The DS was released at a time when smartphone gaming wasn't widespread and we all weren't accustomed to paying $5 for a pretty nice gaming experience. Dollars for doughnuts, I can't think of a game more valuable on my DS than Angry Birds or Tiny Wings on my iPod Touch.
And Blu-ray players can play DVDs. These are all practical examples because the media is more or less physically identical. Playing GBA games requires an entirely different slot.
The biggest complaint I get from people I know is "You have to stop to shoot? This sucks." Odds are these people are comparing it more to Gears of War than RE4. They don't get it. Resident Evil 5 is awesome.
