When the first John Carter trailer came out I really enjoyed the song - Peter Gabriel's cover of Arcade Fire's "My Body is a Cage." So when I looked up the song and found Arcade Fire's original video I came across this video, and then I came (not really, but it's a pretty damn good mashup). I've long wanted to recut OUATITW to update the pace and add new music (e.g. Behind Blue Eyes), and this song would be great for it.
For a Few Dollars More is probably my favorite of the trilogy, though I now need to rewatch them all (rewatched Once Upon a Time in the West not long ago - one of the best endings ever, easily).
Formerly a Collector, now more of a mix of Politician (though I don't like about playing games) and Casual (in the sense that I don't care about owning/buying and just want a fun experience).
I think a bit of a spin-off from the Competitor is the uncalled out Rager, which is sadly what I'm becoming (thanks League of Legends).
Thanks! I'm still going back and forth on AC. I have a feeling that even if I waited for the GOTY edition, I probably wouldn't play much/anything outside of the core game (save for Riddler trophies).
I picked up Arkham City a couple of weeks ago but have yet to open it/get around to playing it. However, I'm a fairly big fan of the Uncharted series, so I have an interest in trading Arkham City for Uncharted 3. Granted, I enjoyed Arkham Asylum much more than Uncharted 2...
However, biggest concern leads to the following question: Are either Arkham City or Uncharted 3 worth picking up and playing right now, or should I simply return AC and wait for either game's GOTY edition with all of the bonus content?
I'm guessing U3's bonus content will only be multiplayer maps, skins, etc., with little to no actual story-based DLC, whereas AC might actually have some story-based DLC....
Thoughts?
I have a massive enough backlog of games (several generations back) so I have no qualms about waiting for either title...
A great article with a bittersweet ending. My deepest condolences on Adam's loss, but am glad to hear he will always be remembered, with a lasting impact on many lives.
This might be a tad dumb, but aren't the way the odds are presented backwards? In other words, the way it's presented, shouldn't Vancouver have the best chance of being the next game?
Reason being, if you know something is almost a guaranteed winner, the house will give a small return of investment. Hence, betting $1000 will net you $1. However, if something is an underdog, then it would be the reverse, with odds being 1:1000. In other words, I interpret the colon (":") as meaning "in a" when 1 is the first number, where the colon is "to" if one is the second number.
Does that make sense? Am I crazy/confused?
More on topic, the art is clearly a money motif, so I'd hope for Vegas over D.C.
I'm sad there isn't more love for Corey Burton. He's one of the most versatile voice actors today (easily up there with LaMarche), and he provided one of my favorite character performances: Brainiac!!!
My favorite will probably always be the theme from Batman Returns. Sure, it's very much Batman 2.0, but it refines and enhances an already amazing theme into so much more. The entire Returns score ups the original Batman score in almost every way (though the original score is also very good).
Film quality aside, the Goldenthal scores are a bit of a guilty pleasure. I like a decent number of the tracks in Forever, and one or two in B&R, but B&R is sadly a rehash of Forever. I particularly liked Two-Face's theme, especially when it was "grandiose." Case in point, the 1:20ish mark of the embedded video. (if the video doesn't work, it's the "Victory" track on Forever.)
Indeed. None of the characters were interesting, the story was rather non-existent, and the relationship between Downey and Paltrow that was teased in the first one came out of left field in the second.
