@Clutchman83: I make my own nipples at home.
This reminds me of when I was 13 and went to a Yankee game... they were giving out a free Tino Martinez notebook to kids 13 and younger. The lady refused to believe that I was 13 and would not give me one. Meanwhile, my friend got one and she was a few months older than me and was 14.

It completely ruined my day and the game for me, and I never forgot that incident.

I really wanted to like Odin Sphere, but couldn't. Too repetitive for my tastes. A lot of the games on that list are pretty good, though.

I only posted a few days ago, but it's a new day in mountain time :).

Anyway, for my next article I choose this [nylatenite.kotaku.com]

Fahey is so hilarious, and anagramming "Phantom Jocks" name was a stroke of genius, leading to some of the funniest comments ever.

Because I watched this video a sad amount of times. I still never did get that far in WarioWare, though.

I somehow managed to miss this story the first (and second) time around, but Flynn's most recent update really warmed my heart. This really is a touching story.

Flynn, you warm my heart in so many ways. And Mr. Scott Rays, you certainly are a kind soul, as is everyone else who offered contributions. What a nice story for the holidays :)

I also liked this story [kotaku.com] a lot. It's sad to say, but I do enjoy a little drama here and there. I also liked that you guys refused to back down.

I like this article because I'm interested in the topic of sound in games, and felt that everyone had something insightful to add to the discussion.

@reddevil:

I agree, Ryu looks freaking disgusting on that cover. The screens and art for SFIV (at least, what we've seen so for, which is admittedly not much) are making me very uninterested in the game.

Does this mean I have to put the pitchfork away?
As of this writing, Kotaku has received no similar threats, despite the pictures and information being available for all to view, right here.

Haha, this is why I love you guys. If Ziff Davis were to threaten you, we know you wouldn't let yourselves be bullied by them.

Not that I blame Douglas at all. If it were my site, I'd be scared shitless too. ZD should be ashamed of such asshole tactics. Yeah, it sucks for them that it happened, but like others have said, that's an internal problem. This poor guy just did what anyone else not under embargo would have done by putting it up on his site.

That was super awkward to watch.
I'd report them to the Better Business Bureau (the BBB) for not letting me return the game if I were that guy. You can't falsely sell something at full price and get away with it, especially since they have proved that it happened in all of the boxes at the store.

Something like this has happened to me before. I went into the store and asked to talk to the manager, who wasn't there. I said, "Oh, well can you just tell him/her that I'll be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which I won't consider resolved until I get my money back?" Needless to say, the clerk gave me my money back immediately because they knew that they were in the wrong.

Even if that doesn't happen and he *does* have to file a report, the BBB might be able to get this guy's money back for him. Know your rights as a consumer, folks.

I'm so happy right now.... there are no words...
@SolFalling: Ah yes, the good old days when the game was known as "Treasure Island Z."

I'm not sure that this game will suffer the same fate as Okami, though. First of all, Z&W willb have a market that Okami never had: kids. Now I'm not complaining that this game is kiddie or anything like that, but kids will think it looks like something they'll enjoy and parents will think that it looks like a good game their kids will want.

Then you have us kind of folks... the "hardcore," the blog readers, the type of people who played Okami. A lot of us will be getting this game too (or at least trying it out) because of all the hype surrounding it. Kotaku, Wired, IGN, and a lot of other gaming sites have been supporting this game since day 1, like you said. This game will therefore be picked up by a lot of us "hardcore," not to mention kids, and oh-yeah, the casual gamer who might see this and think, "Pirates! Sweet!"

I'm not saying that this game will be a smashing financial success, especially if it has poor marketing. Yet I definitely don't think it will go the road of poor Okami :(

The aesthetic gives me a Wind Waker meets Skies of Arcadia feel. Add a little Monkey Island to the mix and you have yourself a winner.

I heart point-and-click.

@Plunkett: Good thing, because if you ditched us for Aussie Kotaku I might have to cry. Or break things.

Though I don't think Crecente should call kotaku.au "Luke-free" since the stuff you post on original Kotaku will end up on AU Kotaku. It's a little misleading and might scare some Aussies from checking it out.

@bernbaum:

It's Krah-sen-tee

He said it once in some interview. I had always thought it was krah-shen-tay.

@ConstantCupcake:

I voted for your cake, too bad you didn't win. Wonderful job though. Have fun eating that cake! I'm sure it can't be too hard to give away a beautiful, tasty cake too if you really don't want it :P.

Congrats to the winners though! Really, all the entries were great. I am a (straight) girl so I can say, completely unbiased by hormones, that #1 was a beautifully done picture. And #8 was funny. Viewtiful Joe rocks my socks, and bonus points for the Red Stripe.
