<![CDATA[Comments from str8raz0r]]> <![CDATA[Comments from str8raz0r]]> <![CDATA[str8raz0r commented on Some New Killzone 2 Screens]]> I wouldn't say it looks bad, just not the light-years ahead that it was originally presented as.

As it stands, it looks pretty good, if stunningly generic.

<![CDATA[str8raz0r commented on That Clock Tower Movie Is Actually Happening, Apparently]]> Damn, and I wanted Jorge Olguin to direct. He's only done a few movies, but the two that I saw (Sangre Eterna and Angel Negro) were incredibly well done, especially on the micro-budget that Olguin works within.

Of course, I have very little trust in Capcom doling out rights to their properties after the Resident Evil trilogy and Street Fighter came out the way that they did.

Color me disappointed.

Dead or Alive 4 had La Mariposa.

I'm intrigued. Mas, por favor!

<![CDATA[str8raz0r commented on John Romero and Mike Wilson Bickering Continues!]]> Gamecock also published the decent-but-repetitive Dementium: The Ward for the DS. The thing about Gamecock is that they seem to be trying WAY too hard to be "indie." It's not enough that they're publishing original games that don't necessarily follow industry trends, but they have to make a rather asinine spectacle out of themselves. The Spike VGA antics are just part of it. I'm more impressed when a company just comes out of left field, throws out a few solid games, and lets the attention come to them.

<![CDATA[str8raz0r commented on Cannibal Corpse Frontman Talks World Of Warcraft]]> @taftsearlobe23: Does the fact that they're filling a niche suddenly make their modest success invalid? Sure, musically they're lacking, but they still make records and money.

It's kinda like ripping on someone for being a successful acupuncturist. Sure, you may not agree with the practice, but does that make their money worthless? They still excel at what they do, even if you disagree with it.

However, I do ask everyone on here to please shoot me in the temple if I ever get caught talking like George up there...sheesh!

P.S. I do listen to metal, have had consensual sex (with ladies!), and have a lot of respect for myself. I seriously don't understand all the cross-genre hate and finger-pointing...seriously people, it's all a matter of taste!

<![CDATA[str8raz0r commented on Zune 2 Hard Drive and Flash Models Leaked?]]> I, personally, applaud the Zune's design. As much as everyone craps all over its clunkiness (it IS a brick, I'll admit that), I personally welcome the size. I'm a pretty big dude with big hands, and the thinness of the new iPods genuinely freaks me out. I'm sure they're sturdy, but I can't get past incredibly thin handheld devices. I avoided purchasing the RAZR for the same reason. I want something big that feels substantial to me.

I still stick to my guns that if any company besides MS had released this, people wouldn't be nearly so grouchy about the whole affair. It's a PMP for chrissakes! Why people get so heated over it I'll never understand. Just because the iPod sells better than the Zune (kind of an unfair comparison, given Apple's 6-year headstart) doesn't mean that the iPod is the be-all and end-all solution for everyone. I like the Zune, and don't like the iPod. That doesn't make me an idiot, or an MS fanboy. It just means that I have an opinion. Deal with it.

<![CDATA[str8raz0r commented on Hands On the Rosie Apple-Powered Multitouch Table (Verdict: Meh)]]> You know it's a mediocre presentation when the Surface demo, done by one of the least charismatic men on the planet, is vastly more exciting.

The UI was similar, but didn't have the really cool stuff about surface (cameras pooping photos and whatnot). Color me unimpressed.

<![CDATA[str8raz0r commented on Matty Lovo is a Hero (and PS3 Owner)]]> @pharmboy:

I have a friend who is epileptic and had gone without a car for a few months until his doctor said it was OK (ie he hadn't had a grand mal seizure for a long time) for him to drive again. Could be the case with the dad here.

As far as little Matty thinking he should get a PS3 as a "reward," he already got his reward for bravery. It's called NOT DYING IN A FIERY WRECK!

<![CDATA[str8raz0r commented on The Worst Thing About IFA]]> That bag is completely unnecessary. I don't care WHAT'S in there for promo materials, it's completely and utterly useless.

Now, if they squeezed an Aquos in there, it'd be well worth it. As it is, it's more bleached, glossy paper to choke landfills with. Great job on being environmentally friendly, Sharp.

Also, foul-mouthed women with accents are completely adorable. Still remember the British exchange students @ college...*sigh*

<![CDATA[str8raz0r commented on Latest Zune Arts Video From Fulltank Is a Real Ad]]> I agree wholeheartedly w/ Looptrack on this one. The Zune is in its first generation and sports a lone model. The iPod is an entire brand that's had YEARS to establish itself with multiple models and generations.

I seriously wonder if there would be as much Zune-hatred if anyone but MS put it out. Sure, it's not selling as well as the iPod, but neither is any of the other brands. I don't see any comments on here saying "Creative can suck it," or "Sandisk is a joke," or whatever.

It just drives me batty that people will automatically hate on a product because its Apple or MS, whereas if any other company came up with it, it would slip under the radar.

On topic though, the commercial is quite stunning. I personally liked the missile gauge that looked like those old '70s clock radios, and had a tiny hint of steampunkishness. No matter what it's an ad for, it's quite memorable.
