Can't stop watching it, because it's CT, a source of so much nostalgia that even up till this day isn't just nostalgia. 15 seconds in, I bet I'm not the only one thinking of replaying it for the umpteenth time. Snoop dog in the middle, singing of weed? Sorry, barely noticed it - I'm just hearing the nice soundtrack and reliving great pasttimes. :)
Some of my hardcore-gaming friends held the NES gamepad like a harmonica: thumbs underneath, rest of fingers pressing the buttons. They had some trouble moving to Genesis and it was horror for them to hold a Dualshock :D . They can't master controlling 4 buttons per thumb haha. Still, they invented on their own the WASD since ~ Quake came-out.
Pretty mainstream, eh? Why's the list from 10+ years ago, then? Isn't Fl0wer "truely innovative", which you say exists only on XBLA? 3 shooters and the hyped-up racing game is all you play :S ?
What about: emulators with roms/iso and walkthrough videos? Librarians can find them ALL on the net/youtube. Though things like Flower need to be controlled and experienced; and modern consoles (ps3/x360) will likely never be emulatable. Still, a video walkthrough will be much more than nothing at all.
Before turning-on the PC and checking spam/kotaku, I went to the park. Saw a squirrel do a somersault-then-catch-a-branch a meter away from me. Ninja'd. Later it started screaming, I wonder if it was hurt.
Online I can chat with family (I moved to another country) and collaborate with people that have similar hobbies. Having the net is both productive and fun for me. Without the net, you're just staying together with boring (for you) people, and devolve discussions to "he said, she said" stuff. Or "let's get drunk, coz that's only when we'd feel happy"
