<![CDATA[slikz21 commented on A Journey Into the Servers of Darkness]]> This is kinda why I've stopped playing TF2. I love it, but I never payed it THAT much where I was getting a fair number of achievements to get the good unlockables.

I know no one will believe me, but the medic was my most played class before the first achievement update, and I had to stop playing it because so many people were medics after that.

Personally, I think achievements are cool, but they shouldn't dictate how useful you can be in a match.

<![CDATA[slikz21 commented on XBLA's Delisting Policy? Developers' Perspective]]> I think this is a great idea for retro games. Independent games on the other hand should be given some more leeway. I mean they're indie games, not instant classics that everyone recognizes and buys.

Revenue is revenue for small development teams, and encourages them to make more.

While I like some classics, games like Echochrome and Everyday Shooter on the PS3 are a lot cooler. PSN is doing a way better job than XBL in the independent department.

<![CDATA[slikz21 commented on Forbes: Can the iPhone Kill the DS?]]> The cellphone is one electronic device that I really just don't care about at all. If it talks/texts, thats where it stops for me. I don't use a phone to watch TV, browse the internet, or play games on. I have better dedicated devices that do that kind of thing.

<![CDATA[slikz21 commented on Swiingers]]> Man, that is one big candle...

<![CDATA[slikz21 commented on Those Aren't The Starcraft II System Specs You're Looking For]]> I thought those were a bit steep. There is no way the average PC in Korea has those specs. I don't either for that matter.

<![CDATA[slikz21 commented on Ubisoft Reworking Splinter Cell Conviction? [Updated]]]> @Infallible: I'll agree with you on the fact that Shanghai dropped the ball in terms of single player, but I think they nailed the multiplayer in Double Agent. Chaos Theory is easily my favorite of the series, but how can you say that it gets more boring as it goes along?

As good as the original was, Chaos theory bested it in every way. It would be really cool if Montreal could do EVERY version, but I'm pretty sure their studio isn't big enough, even if they were just making splinter cell.

Thats great that there are 50 different versions of the game. I know which one Montreal made and I buy that one. how does that main game worse because there are other versions of the game???

<![CDATA[slikz21 commented on Finding Gainful (Virtual) Summer Employment]]> I can count myself extremely lucky. For the past two summers I have been working at a company where my days are spent building buildings in virtual environments. The pay is good and I don't mind getting up at 6:30 a.m. to go to work :D.

<![CDATA[slikz21 commented on Metal Gear Retrospective: Part II]]> Man, I was eight years old when MGS1 first came out and my parents wouldn't let me play it when my friend brought it over one day. I have since rectified that situation in recent years and the MGS series has pretty much become my favorite series of games EVAR!

<![CDATA[slikz21 commented on Metal Gear Solid 4, You've Changed, Man]]> Oh noes, Meryl's luscious hair is gone! I definitely liked the older assets more, the lack of bloom makes all the edges extremely sharp looking in comparison, but I think I'll live through this.

]]>
<![CDATA[slikz21 commented on More Info About Metal Gear Solid 4 Flashbacks]]> @D Mitsuki: I think the 40GB are $399, but there is a $499 bundle when the game comes out with a 40Gb PS3, Dualshock 3 and the game!

]]>
<![CDATA[slikz21 commented on Crytek Ditch PC Exclusivity, Blame Pirates]]> Lets all take a moment to look at Blizzard, and how to properly make PC exclusive titles.

If Cryek blame low sales it's really because of the fact that they are alienating their audience in the first place by having obscene system requirements.

In my opinion the greatest PC games are made by Valve and Blizzard, both of whom have tech that is EXTREMELY scalable on low end systems, plus the gameplay is not boiled down to clear area, then clear some more area.

<![CDATA[slikz21 commented on Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant Impressions]]> I just bought all three Crash games the other day on PSN. The memories are flooding back from the PSX days when I was a kid, but I haven't played any Crash games since Warped (3).
