At least to me. Also, there are limits my patience, per se. For instance, playing through the first Knights of the Old Republic, I only upgraded powers for the light side. This made it nigh impossible to beat the last scenario.

I never did pick the game back up...

But I digress...

Momentum is important for most things in life, whether it's reading a book, working on a new hobby, or playing through a video game.

sariah commented on Kids Won't Listen? Sic BOB on 'Em I'm just waiting for a Youtube where some kid whines about wanting to play a game, when...smack...in comes BOB. Right across the face.

You know, that might make a good commercial for BOB. Well, maybe with the screen panning to a smiling, sleeping child at the end.

With a bruise on their cheek.

sariah commented on My PlayStation 2.5 "If I had to guess, I'd say the PS3 committed suicide after too many viewings of A Knight's Tale on Blu-ray. I shall be more careful of my viewing habits in the future."

You made me laugh so hard that I cried. Thanks. I needed that.

As for myself, I'm rather lucky. I haven't had my XBox red ring and I've never had problems with my PS3, both of which I got at about the same time (two months prior to the PS3 launch for the 360 and 2 weeks after the launch for the PS3). So far, both have lasted longer than my original XBox, which committed suicide after 1.5 years, or (in a way) my PS2, which I've had to adjust the lens for several times.

I just hope my good luck continues. (crosses her fingers)

sariah commented on Haze Demo Hits North American PlayStation Store Tomorrow Well...was the demo worth downloading? Sure. Was it something completely awe inspiring? Nah...

The visuals were quite good. I don't know what some others have talked about as far as them being something related to a last gen system. I have yet to see a last gen system come close to pulling off such graphics. That being said, the environment wasn't sufficiently interesting. Unlike many games, I just didn't feel inspired to explore the environment in order to see what there is to see.

Also, I'd read enough about the game that nothing really struck me as being 'new'. I was really hoping to see level where you could play as part of the rebellion force, but that just didn't happen, unfortunately. The demo is a rather large size, and I understand that they probably left out such aspects in order to keep the size somewhere under that of a regular DVD (which isn't saying much).

Overall, after the demo, I feel a need to rent it before I'd consider purchasing it. After playing through until the rebel scenarios, THEN I'll see whether the game lives up to its hype.

Although I won't take this as a reason to buy the game (which would be kind of like rewarding one's dog for not jumping in front of a car), it's definitely nice to see BioWare step away from such action. sariah commented on NVIDIA Boss Weeps For PC Piracy Piracy, unfortunately, has been around for a very, very long time. The only even partially justifiable defense I've heard is that it can be used to preview a game which doesn't have a demo. But let's be honest, if somebody is devious enough to take the time to find a hacked game and figure out how to install it, are they ever going to take the time to buy it if it's decent? Unfortunately, I find that hard to believe.

The only times I've EVER been tempted to do so is when antipiracy measures have gotten strict enough to where they've either hurt the PC or made the game access so inconvenient that it ruins the enjoyability factor (usually, these have been games which have had SecuRom, past and future implementations, on them). However, people have to consider that pirating a game isn't making a statement to the game manufacturer other than "You obviously needed stricter security measures".

That's why I've chosen to boycott such games (or, in Bioshock's case, get the Xbox 360 version), but there are too many people pirating rather than boycotting and petitioning. If that wasn't the case, we would at least have a hope of countermeasures against things such as having to go online to reauthorize a game every ten days.

I didn't mean to imply that I didn't like the game. Shoot, I loved the game. In fact, I've played through it several times both by myself and with a friend (switching off after dying). sariah commented on Why 360 HDDs Are So Ridiculously Expensive In other words, it's proprietary so they can charge whatever they want. The part which costs Microsoft the most is making it customized so only the Xbox 360 can use it. So, really, they've jacked up the price to make the product more inconvenient for the consumer. This is one the things I absolutely hate about almost anything which is proprietary. It always hurts the consumer.

sariah commented on Blockbuster Not The Best Game Store So Far It won't be long before the fanboys for both the PS3 and Xbox 360, arguing about everything but the main topic of the article.

I, fortunately, have yet to have to actually return a game to any outlet. However, without fail, every outlet I've gone to has had a return policy where they would only exchange for the exact same game. I know that, in the past, EB Games had a 30 day return policy where you could exchange games up to one time for any other game, but it's been a long time before I've seen such a policy.

Unfortunately, this is probably due to the fact that people suck. No, really. I know that said EB Games policy only lasted about three, or so, months (at least where I lived at the time), before having to be changed due to so many people either treating it like a free rental program or simply copying the game and returning it for another game to copy.

What I'm trying to say, is that, yes, it sucks. Especially when you weren't trying to get the better end of a deal per se. However, I, at least somewhat, understand where Blockbuster is coming from. It's all a matter of perspective.

sariah commented on What Games Some Japanese People Want Remade @NitrousO: Final Fantasy IX was loved one heck of a lot more in Japan, as opposed to the US. This is mainly because it was looked on as Final Fantasy coming back to its roots (aka Final FANTASY, as opposed to Final Futuristic Sci-Fi Thriller). In fact, it is also viewed by Sakaguchi Hironobu, the creator of the Final Fantasy series, as his favorite Final Fantasy game.

In other words, yes, FF IX definitely has quite a few fans out there. Just not as many as FF VII.

Sony doesn't release the same content all over the world because the even the same game is required to be different, depending on where it's released.
