@liquid_kore: At least it's not lupus.

It's never lupus.

@Mister_Jack: Sage words, my friend. Sage words.
Has anyone got a link to a high-res copy of that L4D picture? It's awesome.
I really didn't take to EndWar. Maybe that's because, like all voice recognition software, it hates Belfast accents. Or maybe just my voice.

Either way, it was unplayable for me.

A great mod, and everything.

But ye gods, that guy was boring.

I worried when I watched that Eurogamer video and saw the "ideas board" thing with all the spin-off ideas. Spore: The Musical?

It didn't get better when Wright started talking about how he was thinking of the game as a brand instead of a game...

I still hate the nu-metal intro music though.

(sorry for doublepost)

@Kiri Komori:

Nah. He knows no-one likes it when he's nice to games. Everyone wants to see the brutal put-downs, not the compliments and excitement they get on every other site.

The second is very The Exorcist. Terrifyingly so.
COD4: Modern Warfare felt like a fresh IP, and that was great. Just imagine what they might do with an ENTIRELY fresh slate :)
@UFO: When the majority of people say Ulster, and myself included, they tend to forget about Donegal.

The interesting thing about Donegal not being included in Northern Ireland is that Northern Ireland was initially supposed to include 9 counties, not 6. This was because the Government of Ireland act deliberately cut out the remaining 3 counties of Ulster in an attempt to undermine Northern Ireland as a viable country. That way, it would eventually collapse under the political and economic pressure of the South and leave the Union, solving the Irish "problem" for the British parliament once and for all.

Of course it didn't go as planned, leaving me with that whole nasty period of history to study for my history A Level a few years back ;)

@PirateThom: That's exactly it. I'm proud of my Northern Irish heritage, my parents were a mixed marriage when such a thing was risky at best, and have relatives both north and south of the border. I have links to both sides of the divide, but wish to identify with neither (because neither of them behaved like paragons of virtue in Northern Ireland's history, despite the propaganga).

Therefore, I'd like to have a flag I can identify with as being solely of my country. It's like Wales being continually pissed off about not being represented in the Union Jack, or England not having an independent parliament of their own - it seems trivial to outsiders, but key to those directly affected.

I'm a Northern Irish Protestant, and this is nowhere near as bad as the fact that Northern Ireland has not had its own flag since the 1970's.

Sure, the Red Hand of Ulster got appropriated by loyalist groups during the Troubles, but so did the Irish tricolour get appropriated by the IRA and no-one protests its use.

/vents cultural grievances.

I haven't played it yet, but this sounds awfully like My Life as a King, except that you actually go with your people when they do things.

Can any comment on that?

Why do people hate the Max Payne dream sequences so much? They were some of the most memorable bits of two games - sure, the blood in the darkness bit was frustrating given that the game wasn't made for platforming, but the atmosphere and sheer "holy shit, this guy's seriously messed up in the head"-ness of it all was worth it.
@diablofreak: You are sick.

But in a good way. *sniggers*

@CCCombobreaker: And yet the devs were lamenting their fortunes due to rampant piracy? Sins of a Solar Empire was released at pretty much the same time and sold far more copies than that.
In other words, "we've realised that making a game that only the most elite of machines can run, and therefore closed down our market to pretty much everyone else".

Highly advanced games are great, but Crysis suffered because hardly anyone could run it without spending a fortune, and therefore pirated it instead to test it out.

Check which one has the Tipp-Ex still drying on it.
@Josh*: No, it's not. The gore was added in for the US release. It's not present in the EU or the Japanese release, suggesting that it's the definitive version according to Suda51, as he would hardly release a censored version in Japan.
