WTF Uncharted 3 DLC pricing?!?

I bought Flashback Map Pack #1 for $10 not two weeks ago, three weeks ago you could get the map pack and the character skins bundle for $25 by purchasing the "Fortune Hunter's Club" membership. The Flashback Map Pack #1 and the skins in total cost $38.5 if bought separately, 45% savings they said. But I didn't want the skins, so I bought the map pack separately.

Now that Flashback Map Pack #2 and the Fort co-op map are announced, priced at $10 and $5 respectively, If I buy them, I'll be out $25 in total for three map packs.

But get this!!!! ND just announced that these new map packs and all the new skins after this month's update are now also free for Fortune Hunter's Club members. They changed the description on PSN to 60% saving only just this week! So all 3 map packs, plus all 11 skin packs bundle that supposed to cost $62.5 in total, you can get them for $25. And apparently two more free map packs are going to be announced for members in March and April.

So I bought the membership today, but what the fuck, ND?!!? Announce this beforehand, had I knew this, I'd bought the membership instead of buying the packs separately. So for contents that I can get for $25, I paid $35, I'm out $10!!

I'm sure I'm not the only one here who lost money because of this scheme, I've played the game with people who bought the skins and maps separately. Does this happen to you too, Kotakuites?

I actually hold games that are made specifically for a handheld in higher regards than handheld console spin-offs, games like Elite Beat Agents, The World Ends with you, etc. Vice versa, if these games have console spin-offs, they will not work simply because of the absence of the dual screen and touchscreen.

This is because when making console spin-offs, dev tend to try to replicate the console experience at a much smaller scale. This is the wrong way to do this, I much rather they change the mission structure, pacing or even gameplay mechanic completely to fit the handheld hardware.

Look at MGS Peace Walker, it's nothing like its console counterpart. It has a select your own mission structure, it caters to the multiplayer centric PSP gamer demographic, and I must say this is handheld spin-off and coop done right (if compared to PSP's GOW spin-offs and the coop in RE5).

Metal Slug 1 Mission 3? Good times, good times.
I'm not saying they weren't good, but they should be better than good, they should be great. Franchise like GOW and Uncharted reached a point when they are regarded the best of the best, at that point people like me expected a next entry to be a full-on experience without faults.

Small numbers of enemies, boring set pieces because hardware couldn't handle it are out of the question for franchise like these at this point.

Does it have the same impact as GOW 1,2 and 3? Is it talked about as much? I don't think so, the PSP GOW games are unmemorable in comparison to their console counterparts, which is sad because I thought they have the deeper, more mature storyline.

But tell me, how many people mention how great the Hydra battle in GOW1 in 2005? The Colossus of Rhodes battle in GOW2 in 2007? Poseidon battle in GOW3 in 2009? In comparison, do anybody even remember the Scylla battle in GOW GoS in 2010? GOW should always wow you in the first fifteen minute of the game's start, and GOW GoS fails to do so and that's just downright unacceptable on a GOW game, it throws away one of the game's signature element out the window if you ask me.

Don't get me wrong, the PSP GOW games are good, but GOW games shouldn't be just good, it should be great, the best of the best, memorable for years to come. Yet both the PSP entries didn't make much impact like their console counter parts, I'd argue that most of Zelda's and Mario handheld titles suffer from the same fate, they're good, but will never be as great or as memorable as OOT, 64, Skyward Swords and Galaxy.

I admit the Zelda and Mario games fit much better on handheld, they were built on hardware with its own gimmick, and they utilize that gimmicks well. But some games are just too big for underpowered handheld to do well, especially if they're built only to replicate a home console experience, games like GOW and Uncharted. It pains me to see small number of enemies, boring set pieces because the hardware can't handle it, these things shouldn't happen to these franchises at that point (after two/three brilliant console games), they should be without faults.

I'll give you and example, when we battle the Scylla at the start of GOW Ghost of Sparta, fans who played all the games, had fought Hydra, Colossus of Rhodes and Poseidon before, the Scylla battle feels small, insignificant and downright boring in comparison. And that to me is just unacceptable, GOW should always wow you in the first fifteen minute of the game's start, and GOW GoS fails to do so. How many people mention the Hydra, Colossus of Rhodes and Poseidon battle as a cutting edge memorable experience, how many people mention the Scylla?

As a whole, did they make the same impact as GOW 1, 2 and 3? I don't think so. Small number of enemies, boring set pieces, these things shouldn't happen to a GOW game at that point.
Just as I thought... It's PSP's GOW all over again. Console games shouldn't have a spin off on under powered hardwares, it just tarnishes the franchise as a whole.
Isn't it sad that this franchise is probably the only times SEGA utilize Alex Kidd? He was way cooler than Mario back then.
Bandai made a useless full scale Gundam statue, the least they can do now is make a Wi-Fi tower in the shape of Ingram unit 1.
Wait, so the actual tower is just the tube looking thing on the right? laaaaaaaaaame.
Resident Evil lost its survival horror root when Capcom made the heroes, John Woo-esque laser dodging, kung fu superhuman, black ops cops with bucketloads of ammos.

I blame the Paul W.S. Anderson, The young minds at Capcom saw Mila Jovovich kung fu kicked a cerberus in slomo back in 2001, and they thought "Holy Moley, that's where RE's direction should go from now on." #talkamongstyourselves

Schism, Cyclops and Wolvie had different views on the future of the mutant children, Cyke sees them as soldiers and Wolvie just wants to protect them little kids. They battled it out, all while a giant sentinel sent by the new Hellfire Club invaded the remaining mutant population in Cyclops' Utopia.

Cyclops was like "These children are our future soldiers, and Jean never loved you, she's afraid of you!!"

And Wolvie was like "These children are just kids, and if Jean's alive now, who do you think she's more afraid of now?"

It's Regenesis this year, X-Men splits in two, Wolvie convinced part of X-team to leave Utopia and go back to New york and reopen the X-Mansion. Cyke convinced the part of the X-Men to stay in the coast of San Fransisco and Utopia.

Now we have many new books, following Wolvie's Gold team in New York and Cyke's Blue Team in San Fransisco.

So far, Cyke's blue team's storyline wins, the newly reformed Magneto is in his team. But then again Havok and Polaris returns to X-Factor and they're sided with Wolverine.

And cubed fists.... and weird line shading. Look at that beautiful cover, the art inside just doesn't do that cover art justice.
Eh? Where's your star? I thought you're a star commenter?
Hmmm... I'm trying to stick with 616's main contuinity. All the great crossovers happen in it anyway.
Go back to 2006 and read House of M?
Start From House of M, that's when X-Men got good again after 10 years....
>_<

That's Luke Cage... Check out everybody on the cover, nobody's wearing their ultimate costumes, they're all in their 616's costume.

Whaaaaaaaa?!?!? No, no, no. Messiah Complex didn't in the ultimate universe.
