"@CCAF drlard: It's proven to be a successful series when the sequel is already garnering such HIGH attention."

Rachel Fogg commented on BioWare On The Decline Of The JRPG
"@Makidian: I just don't seem interested in Wrpgs...they don't SCREAM play me to me. I don't think they're bad, I just have no interest in them..that said, I haven't played every Jrpg under the sun for that same reason. But I can see the appeal in them. However, this gen, it's all 'Japan's game industry is dying Afdfhadfhfd!' all over the place...so I take these discussion with half a heart."

Rachel Fogg commented on BioWare On The Decline Of The JRPG
"@WFROSE: But NOTHING barely has really changed in either of them. It's easy to just look at Jrpgs and say 'They haven't changed.." When I've played SEVERAL Jrpgs and each of them have different modes of play, different ways of story telling, different ways of character development (even if it is scripted). I'm not saying that Jrpgs are superior to Wrpgs in the slightest, I'm saying it's unfair and really biased to just call out Jrpgs and not Wrpgs for basically falling in the same cog and wheel. The Japanese industry is in trouble...but it's simply because they have stagnated, the old heads are still in control and the young heads are too slow about making the change or aren't having the chance and support necessary to make the change. But the entire gaming industry is sorta spinning its wheels."

Rachel Fogg commented on BioWare On The Decline Of The JRPG
"@(Starman) Starman: Agreed, oh I got what he meant by decline either by popularity or otherwise...however I have to disagree with him there. Over the course of this gen, Persona and the Shin Megami games have picked up in popularity, Demon Souls also garnered some damn strong numbers. Granted those games haven't made the MW level of money and saturation but they are picking up. Hell half of the Jrpgs in Japan while on the outset might LOOK interesting...probably aren't going to worth the salt they're printed on."
