"@Althestane: no problem! Certainly by this trailer you can tell that WB is trying to push this as an action blockbuster of sorts. But if you pay close enough attention (well, not that close, but if you just look), the trailer does give some of the depth into the story, such as the small "who watches the watchmen?" graffiti on the window, the signs that say "no vigilantes" or "badges not masks". i loved those parts. but you will not regret your purchase! i actually just started re-reading it lol."

Let's put it this way: Watchmen is the ONLY graphic novel on Time's 'Top 100 novels since 1923 list'. and yes, you should deffinitely read the graphic novel before watching this."

"@Dunny0: it's one part the message, the other part how it's conveyed. i don't know if you've read Watchmen, but it's too hard to explain other than Alan Moore wrote Watchmen partially as a means to prove comics can do things other mediums simply can't. It's much more complex than the trailer makes it look, trust me."

I think this movie could be great, it has potential, but i have to agree with you when i say that there's no possible way to perfectly translate this graphic novel to any other medium, not even film, which still has visuals."

"@jrghoull: um, they DID give Rorschach the constantly changing mask. towards the end when he says "The world will scream 'save us!' and i'll whisper 'no'.", it shows him standing on a rooftop, then it shows his "face" looking down and you can clearly see the ink blots shifting and forming. it looks really cool. oh, and blue guy = Dr."

"@soupcrusher: they won't show this trailer with it in IMAX. they never show the same trailers. they only show trailers for movies that are coming out in IMAX. like they're showing a 15 second teaser for Harry Potter with the IMAX version, but they won't show this."
