Okay this is stupid, even if this is a good game. Everyone knows FIFA or NHL 11 were much much much better sports games this year and every other year too.
Why can't driver just be about being a motha fcking driver. I mean sure technically this feature gets you driving more. But come one we know this isn't the driver we've missed for sooo long now. For god sakes its easy, just make a game just like driver 2 with cool driving missions. and you'll sell like a bajillion copies! no need for fancy coma ability.
@Slagathorian: Stand tall and shake the heavens...: Of course I wasn't talking about a 13 year old kid in school, I specifically stated that it would be an "undergrad" student, which means an undergraduate college student.
But still your numbers don't make much sense, even if it was only $10 cheaper(which is seemingly unrealistic), referring to my old statement if you bought 5 books a semester. And these "digital books" were only 10 dollars cheaper than the regular version. That's 50 dollars saved every semester, again referring to my previous statement if we were in college for 4 years(8 semesters), the savings of that would still be $400 per graduate.
Which alone would make up the cost of the iPad, and its still obvious that only a $10 dollar discount on a digital version is pretty unrealistic. Princeton and Harvard already sell eBook versions of their books, for considerably less than the hardback version of it. And typically if a school is buying books in bulk than they sell them at a discounted rate.
Basically, saying its way more expensive just does not add up at all. I literally am telling you this because I have spoken to officials from my university, that explained the benefits of switching to digital version. And it wasn't a matter of "if" it was going to happen, but more of "when" it was going to happen. It's cheaper no matter which way you look at it, I promise you that. Of course it will cost money up front, but in the end it will save money, and paper.
Lets say on average every semester I spend 600 dollars on text books. Which I would say is fairly reasonable for a full time undergrad. Now Lets say I spend 4 years in school(doubt it), so thats 8 semesters. 8x600 is... $4800.
Now with the iPad way, I spend a one time upfront fee of 400 or 500 dollars, Lets say I have to buy 5 books a semester. Now I obviously can't guarantee a price on what these digital books would cost, but I'll say 50 dollars a piece to be fair.
Now if I buy 5 books every semester for 50 bucks, that is only $2,000 plus a one time $500 iPad charge. Totally to only $2500. That's almost half my money saved! or maybe another semester in college which I will need! Now of course potential replacement costs of the iPad could come into play, but even then. Still by faaarrrrr the cheaper option!
Yeah my university was thinking about doing this as well, overall it would be a lot cheaper to buy an iPad than buy all my text books. That way we save paper, spend less money and maybe even have a worthy device that will help us out in school. I am totally for it, although i'm not sure the positive affects it would have for young high schoolers
@SquareWheel: It was implied that the game went from being available from only "1" platform before, now it being available for "2" platforms (mac and PC) hence doubling the amount of platforms that the game is available on.
I don't care what you guys say, this is still the best baseball game. I mean MVP was really awesome too, but EA always lacks in presentation skills. Which is exactly where The Show cleans up really well. I wouldn't say the gameplay is totally as good as MVP was, but its pretty close and a lot closer than that other baseball game.
