Actually for those of you that don't know already this basically comes down to microsofts micro-progress on the 360's components...

they announced months ago that the 360's GPU/CPU/HANA are moving towards a SOC design with them all being integrated in one single 45nm chip (i think it was 45nm i dont specifically recall the size)

can you imagine if all samsung had to do was drop a chip, some ram and a bit of code into a plasma and they could have a new product with an "Xbox360 Inside" logo ;)

A. DVD has 10-15 years of shelf life before any companies even think of dropping it as 99.9% of population has it vs .01 that have bluray...

B. SONY the GOD OF blURAY ... has already stated "the future is digital downloads" something MS and others have been flogging for months...

C. FOr gamers bluray has meant jack as can be seen as their are no PC games forcing people to buy a bluray reader to rock a game. Graphics Media Size .. example Crysis... world size media size ... example GTAIV and Oblivion etc... cutscenes media size, crap theirs been enough games with inengine rendered cutscenes that were awesome.

D. 3 BILLION DOLLARS IN THE WHOLE IS A CRAP LOAD...

I HATE the original civ it's just too much i mean i hate when a f*cking map takes days to complete... i mean 2-3 hours for a map doesnt seem like a bad thing for a console at all...

I hate to tell the writer, but generally people down like drawn out games, hell 2-3 hours is pretty much longer than most people will deal with an RTS in general, hell could you imagine a 3 hour starcraft fight?

Civ IV was... umm... work LOL, i dunno i personally found it intriguing and deep but not, Fun ... Civ Rev i actually found fun

Sony sells abysmally in a lot of countries as well when you look at it in the grand scheme of things.. why? no games, and only a few decent/good ones coming, ask anyone MGS may be "the game" but it's also "the game" with the shitties AI most people have ever seen just watch the gameplay videos...

They LOOSE MONEY ON EACH CONSOLE SOLD< and if they cant have the attach rate to back it up then their screwed... if all of their extra consoles only get 1 games sold (MGS) guess what? they still lost a whole crap load of cash....

and to developers and publishers what matters isnt the # of consoles sold, its the # of games sold, if 90% of the 360's install base is buying new games regularly as seen by a steadily increasing attach rate month after month, then the ps3 comes along and its smaller yet growing install base only 25-30% buy games, that doesnt work out in the numbers.... in that case the ps3 would have to have 4-5x the total consoles microsoft does out their to make it directly competitive.

Pandaschreck: your right on the first part, but the fact is RTS's on the 360 have become a really nice thing i love it... especially the more recent ones, i mean come on redalert for 360 looks wicked, halo wars gameplay videos look... well breathtaking... and ubisofts endwar just makes me drool with desire.
