Fuck. FUCK.

I love the guys at 1up. Please God don't let them take away my podcasts (and the people associated with my podcasts.)

$1020 for Portal.

That is, I spent roughly a grand on a new awesome gaming computer, then got to finish Portal before it died on me. It's probably just the processor, but I've had such a terrible string of luck getting this thing working that I'm considering just giving up, keeping it around for spare parts and saving up for a Falcon Northwest rig.

You know what's like this, only good?
This:

@UmeShoryu: I asked a Japanese friend of mine about it, this is what he said:

"Those have designated the hand gesture as to resemble to that of the cat. It seems that in Japan, the maid is compared by the cat, is lovely so. That when the photograph is taken, former Japanese to blinking piece sign expression, is similar."

Tron Guy was never a "YouTube meme". He has videos online now, talking about net neutrality and whatever else he's milking his 15 minutes for, but he was already old meme by the time those were made.
Yay for the handful of PSP owners out there, I guess. Why SE would choose to release this game for a handheld with such a small user base is beyond me. I'm sure if they released it for the PS2 it would have been successful.

Here's hoping for a PS2 port, à la GTA:LCS.

@Tiger-Fever: How, exactly, does the addition of two fret buttons constitute an "easier control scheme"?
Man, I can't believe they made eight of these. I never even beat the first one.

I have to say, the style of the franchise looks like it's changed considerably in seven sequels.

He is drinking from the toilet.
I use mine to play games I wouldn't otherwise get a chance to play, like Ouendan and Electroplankton, but the main reason I love it is because if I'm on the go and have access to wi-fi, I can use it to check my e-mail, chat in AIM and IRC, and even do some rudimentary web browsing. It's not as good as an iPhone or internet tablet, of course, but for a $40 add-on to a piece of hardware I already have? Fuggetabout it! The official DS browser ALONE would have cost me that, and it's honestly not a whole lot better than the homebrew.
By "lower-end platforms", he's talking about the DS, not the Wii.
DROD is amazing.

If anyone wants to check the game out before spending money on it, be sure to check out the Architects' Edition - The graphics and sound aren't quite as nice as the commercial versions, but it's free, and if you're like me it'll be more than enough to get you hooked on the series.

The download for the Architects' Edtion is here, in both Windows and Linux flavors.

Wow, looks like they Quaked the game up a notch. Remember, if you want people to take your game seriously, just make everything brown.
Well, that certainly expands the possible costume options for women considerably...

Slutty Witch
Slutty Fairy
Slutty Pirate Wench
Slutty Nurse
Slutty Slut
Slutty Yuna
Slutty Chun-Li
Slutty Peach
Slutty... Pac-Man??!

(actually, I think that last one falls under the "slutty slut" category again.)

Wow, I don't even like Bioshock, but man it'd be cool to own something like that. So bad-ass.
How did Crecente post this? I'm watching him play Phantom Hourglass, live, AS I TYPE THIS!

...time paradox!

As a geek, I'm insulted. Being equated with Halo players? What next, calling anyone who plays Madden a geek? I earned my title, dammit.
I'm a guy who plays a female character in RPGs, but I don't do it to try to get people to do me special favors or anything shady, it's just because if I'm going to be looking at this same character for the next X hours of my life, I might as well make it something nice to look at.

I'm sure glad I don't live in China. If I did I'd probably move. China's a shitty place to live.
