Technically you can invite a friend to another game. You just send him a text message. But I know, it's not ideal. However Lempel (the "PSN guy") said that unified voice chat support is coming, they just had to add those features first as they were the most demanded and the most indispensale. It's not as easy as Live now, but it's still better than the PSN of 3 months ago. If your friend is playing, he will receive the message in his game and join you in yours if he wants to.

And also, my 360 is neither "shitty" nor "irrelevant." There was no reason for me to pay the full Pro (or Elite) price since I knew my uncle would buy me a HDD, which he did. I have 2 sets of headphones (both 5.1, one a wireless Sony MDR-DS6000 and the other the AX360, which come with a mic). I got another HDMI wire from Amazon for less than 2 bucks. So basically I have a pretty solid Pro in terms of features (without having paid for the MS ones), with a 256MB memory card and 5 Arcade games as a bonus. And if I'm not paying for Live, it's out of principle, because it's more than time for MS to make online play free, and until then, I have a PS3. But more importantly, I would never mock you (or anyone) for buying a 40GB PS3 (although we all know the MGS4 is of much greater value) since I don't know your income. I thought that jab was kind of low but I still wanted to make things clear.

I'm not replying here as a Sony fanboy, but I feel that I should respond to your comment and I'm assuming you won't be visiting the 260+ comments thread where you replied to me so here I am. Nowhere in my comments have I knocked the 360. My reference to RRoD was that it's not that fair to compare Sony removing features to MS making the system more reliable (notice that I DO acknowled the effort), as the latter is more like praising MS for putting a controller or a power cord with the console. I hope we're clear there.
On the other things you said, I know t 360 is a great console (YOU convinced me to buy one. If it were a shitty console, no one would have convinced me). I'm enjoying the games, and the fact that I can play Bully while listening to Armin Van Buuren. But I'll admit, I prefer my PS3. And I understand that you prefer the 360. I know there are reasons to love both, and it just depends on what exactly your needs are to determine your preference. That said, both companies have general fuckups that any gamer, no matter what they prefer, has to unerstand. You made me realize that RRoD is not such a big deal, I concur. But Live is not worth its price anymore. And I'm perplexed as to why 360 fans love to defend that price (or worse, asking for a fee on PSN to jump in). I mean, really, if Live Gold was free now, wouldn't you be the first to dance about it? PS3 fans forced Sony to add in-game XMB by pointing at the 360. Why can't 360 fans do the same and force MS to follow some of Sony's steps?
From 360 to PS3 I perfectly understand how the unity of the system, the online experience, etc might be sort of a stepdown. But from PS3 to 360, having to pay to play online, not being able to transfer music files or to redownload games on different consoles, the ridiculous price of accessories, etc also feel like a step down. We are gamers, so we must defend our gamer interests first. Both MS and Sony have advertisers to do the fanboy talk for them. We don't need to help them for free.
Last thing, regarding the games. I could easily say that 360 has no games that I want to play because I'm not willing to play online. But I know that's just BS. And if you look around, you WILL find reasons to play games on your PS3 (other than MGS4. Have you tried MGO btw?). I wish Sony was more agressive towards third-parties. But as a 360 owner I also wish that MS didn't just rely on PS2 sequels as third-parties and PS2 knock-offs as first-parties. In terms of innovation MS is trailing behind big time this generation, and I want more than "PS2 games with better graphics and online integration." Look at LBP, The Last Guy... Whether or not they will be good has yet to be known, but at least they are using the technology in an imaginative way. That's one of the reasons I prefer my PS3, and notice that I said nothing of power, nothing of non-gaming features. PS3 still has a long way to go to be the perfect system, and so does 360. But I prefer one, you prefer the other. I stopped talking smack about the 360 a long time ago, I'm sure you'd notice if you paid attention. You should start looking at PS3 with another eye too. I'm sorry you're in debt because of it , and I hope everything will work out. On that note, cheers!

Dude Snake is calling! Don't know if you saw the post about the Wal-Mart deal. It will be over this Saturday, hope you can take advantage of it. See you on the battlefield soldier! And get ready for one of the best games you've ever played.

FP_slomo788 on May 27, 2008

Yeah I got it. Hot shit. I see what you guys mean by "unified system." PS3 still has a lot to catch up on in that department. My uncle might give me his HDD so I figured I'd save the money. In other bad news, I won't be able to sign up for Live Gold for a while. Enjoying Halo 3's single player now so no biggie. Hope you'll enjoy your PS3 soon too!

Heh, yeah, the picture is actually a watercolor of SWAMP THING.

Komrade_Kayce on May 15, 2008

Theres nothing quite like poking a small boys belly to turn on your 360.

I asked my girlfriend if she wanted me to replace it with the standard white when we moved in together. No, she said, she also wanted to poke at his belly. So there it stays.

Sonata deserved a lot more attention than it got, imho.

Jelster on May 12, 2008

Credit where credit is due. Asking or prompting for credit cheapens it if you ask me.

Witzbold on Apr 21, 2008

Nah the 360 is good even if its region locked Ill take it anyways. Was thinking of getting a bloody US 360 also eventually.

How do you think I feel? I'm the guy started that stupid name-change thing. Argh. I hate it.

By the way- Excellent comments overall. I'ma add you.

Vecha on Feb 7, 2008

Do your previous comments show you attacking sony while defending microsoft? I haven't seen you do that...I have however seen Tomago do that...

Blu-ray players speed is updatable through firmware. That was a major attraction of it. I just wanna be sure you actually read this.

Witzbold on Jan 1, 2008

Thanks for the support mate. :) Btw which superman movie was that picture you are using your icon from?

Witzbold on Dec 24, 2007

WITZBOLD (the 0 is a zero) for XBLA. I dont think the caps matter. I just did that to hide the fact I used a zero instead of an O since it was taken lol.
