I had a moment with this game last night that really surprised me. I was doing the Akihiko social link with the FemMC, and I had a moment of realization where for the first time in my ENTIRE HISTORY OF GAMING, playing myself wouldn't help this relationship get anywhere. Being an american guy, all of the reactions I would normally give came off as way too strong and offputting, undercutting Akihiko's rather fragile ego. Instead, I had to take a more indirect approach, making him feel useful in his role as the 'strong guy' of SEES while still not rolling over and acting like a push-over girly girl. It was the most pure 'role playing' moment I've ever had in a game, and it really struck me as something very special.
I've never played Persona 3 before, so I don't know what the male MC storyline is like, but I can't imagine it'll demand that I think outside my own experience as much as the FemMC has.
I'll tell you why I'm NOT buying SSF4. I bought SF4 a little over a year ago. I'm not paying $40 for this. I'm not paying ANYTHING for this. Ever.
But hey, when SSF4Turbo comes out next year, I'll be happy to read the sequel to this article.
As a fan of ridiculously colored pieces of tech, had this been released in the US I probably would have picked it over the lame, obvious black default.
The most interesting part of this is all the promises Activision had to sign over to get them to make MW2. It seems that IW was tired of making CoD games and didn't want to see the franchise driven into the ground.
Of course, once they delivered, they got railroaded out. I've seen that happen to companies before, and it's always ugly. Poor form on Activision's part, but that's about par for the course I guess.
I hope that West and Zampella take them for everything they've got.
@josh6135: Essentially, Activision promised these guys the moon if they'd actually make MW2 and then after it was done headhunted reasons to fire them in order to not pay up.
@SuperSonik: Some people might, but ... y'know, I'm an adult, and when I buy $50 controllers I don't throw them. I take care of them. ;)
Also, no game can be harder than Mega Man 9. That game was built broken. I love it, but good god, I'll never finish it.
I love Sheep Man. It's goofy, kind of dumb, and fits right in with the classic memorable villains like Hard Man, Dive Man, Charge Man, Snake Man, etc.
More adorable badass robot master designs is always a plus in my book.
@madbassman39: Well, I've not played online at all, because I don't really play online and stick to the single player. So you can distribute my 6 hours among the other 999,999 players. I'm sure others are in the same boat.
Picked this up already, thanks to the fact I was sent home from work due to snowpocalypse. Those cars are MAD EXPENSIVE in the shop. Oh well. I have plenty of credits.
I might have to check this out later, when I'm not at work. I'm not sure how the emulation is going to be, but if it's okay, this is a fantastic idea.
That said, if they run like crap, I'll stick with Kongregate.
I LOOOOOOOOVE my Suda 51 games. I played through that game twice on Wii. I'll play through it again for achievements.
Now announce NMH2 for everything so I don't have to buy that twice, too.
