I loathe all of this "retailer-specific" b.s. Just make the game and sell the game. Put a code in the box (there's precedence for this), and let the consumer decide what dlc or add-on guitar they want. I want Blue Monday and Burning Down the House, but I will not preorder and I will not purchase from gamestop...
@Sodrohu: HAHAHAHAAHAHa! I never leave work/I'm always at work. Anyone who tells you staying at home and raising 3 kids isn't work has obviously never done it.
Oh, I wanna believe. Winning Eleven 7 & 8 are the only games I've ever played enough to be good on the max difficulty level...Still getting used to Fifa10.
never watched his show, but his coverage of games may get me to. There is a market there, people care about this stuff, glad it's getting more attention.
@blackestwizard: I was on the fence about New Vegas. But there's something about the music that always gets me. I wish there was an official soundtrack release for Fallout 3. Retro music + post-apocalyptic setting = win.
bought (by my wife, for me) in late 2001 (I think). Now used mainly to play DVD's for our kids. The Wii is sitting on the other side of the TV; and that antique device under it, kiddies, is a VCR. Last game finished was FF12, in early '09.
How about free DLC for early adopters? Since so many publishers have dlc ready on day 1 of release, how about rewarding buyers who are paying day 1 price for your game? Load up the game, get the first map pack, or additional costumes or challenge rooms for free. After a while (weeks, month) charge for it. Be nice to the people who are buying your games instead of trying to get more $ out of them from day 1.
my library (www.eapl.org) has a strangely good selection of games, esp. for the wii. I've seen 2 copies of punch out, the new indiana jones game, the conduit, among many other choices. limit 2, no renewals. free 1 week game rentals.
