Dood, I have to say you're on a role this weekend! I've really enjoyed reading all of your post. They're like a breath of fresh air when compared to stuff like the "50 best cleavage shots in Cos Play" stuff I'm accustomed to reading on the K. I love your perspective and angle on the video games and the industry in general! Keep doing your thing, and I'll keep reading! You are by far my favorite contributor on the site!

Hi Maggie!
Just read your article about games and art, and recalled an exhibition I just saw at arthouse, called Reset/Play - not sure if you've already heard of it:
[www.arthousetexas.org]I suppose it was put up for GDC, but I'm not sure. It was a mix of games being considered as art, and art being considered as games. The pieces that had a video game theme, but were purely audio/visual (and less 'interactive') were (to me) much more successful and approachable as art.
I guess that's why games like Ico and SotC appeal to so many people as art. It's entertainment, but you're not being entertained purely by as many visual effects and interaction as you are visual technique and perhaps messaging.
Keep up the great work - love your articles!

That isn't a Zero Punctuation knockoff. The Gamestop one was, but the other guy's been around a lot longer than Zero Punctuation.
Just because some Gamestop guy did it doesn't mean we have to jump at every flash animation and accuse it of being less than it is. How do you know Zero Punctuation didn't steal the idea from him?

Just wanted to add one more note of support for all the awesome items you post. The academic and cultural sides of gaming never get old to read about, and it's interesting to see how people are approaching this genre to get something out of it.
Between you and Owen, the Kotaku Weekend Edition is simply outstanding.

I really enjoy your sociological/anthropological post; intellectual sans condescending. You're post never fail to get me to put down the DS3 to do some thinking.
