yeah but the PC had 306 titles.... It has more"good" games if it has the same % as a 228...
How the hell does this rating system work? By that rating, If a console has 1 game that scores well....its the best console ever.
@Cpryd001: Ohh don't get me wrong, I love steam, heck I even like games for windows live (hay its got a private chat and achievements).
But, I do agree that Steam is much closer to a fine pastry than a wooden horse, because even the advertisements are discrete. Like how their site's front page is always the first tab selected when the app starts, or how the pop-up (or steam updates) appear behind the normal window, so they don't infuriate you by jumping in the way of your fun, yet they still force you to view them after closing your game.
Its a testament to steam's design that they're able to cram in so much advertising, yet refrain from inconveniencing you. #modernwarfare2
Well...they actually make a valid point. Steam is great, but forcing you to install the "store" portion of steam seems a bit excessive, if not downright unnecessary.
It also creates the whole conflict -of- interest thing that riled up the boarderland devs. #modernwarfare2
@Arkhaiz: So all the kids born with mental disabilities can become just as alienated? You do realize that quite a few of those "retorts" are just as offensive, if not more than the "gay" remark?
If you want to try and beat down on someone who cant think correctly because they were born with an under-developed frontal lobe and have no way of ever fitting into society or ever changing from that state, and are entrapped in a pitiful existence to which the only escape is death........and thats what you'd like to use instead of "homosexual"?
Really?
Or maybe you'd care to insult another subset of people, maybe we can call things "niggerly" next?
An insult isn't supposed to be politically correct, and as it stands "gay" is an insult(its shouldn't be, but it is).
I hate everyone thats part of the gaming community and I want you all to go sit in the corner and think long and hard as to why the acronym at the end was more offensive than the guy that was blown up by grenades.
Ever stop to think that maybe "you being a pretentious jerk" isn't the best way to promote equality in sexuality.
I don't have any problem with gay people but when you decide to elevate your preference of hole to fuck above the worth and association of the person saying it, than your just as bad as the bigot who attacks you.
Wake THE FUCK UP, your sexual preference isn't a big deal unless someone makes it. And guess what? Your the problem, so shut-up, and go worry about something that matters, because what I like to spank my tank to is a whole lot less important than the peace-keepers and people in Iraq or other war zones who have to deal with actual life or death situations, be it with those grenades that you hypocrites willingly passed over, or any number of revolting acts of violence that we chalk up to "fun". While a simple sex-act is worthy of a revolt.
Funny thing is, im going to be banned, or called an idiot by the next poster. So let me ask you this "what makes your opinion better than my piece of shit argument", guess what? Nothing, your just as much as an intolerant fucker, as the 16th century slave owner. Only difference is your intolerant of people you perceive to be intolerant.
Go have fun you asinine hypocrites!! #modernwarfare2
@Cookie: Its hard to notice something while driving down the road at 25mph, because you have only a few seconds before you pass it. Its even harder when that thing has had months of setup time, and was made "not" to be noticed.
No amount of book training is going to help you spot IEDs on a roadside, you need real experience or something akin to that, where those skills are improved and nurtured.
You cant slap a textbook, or run a few drills and expect them to be amazing at it. It takes years to be able to get that gut reaction and say "theres something wrong about that pile on the side of the road". Its probably one of the reasons why gamers are bad at noticing these things, they're always focused on the reticle, and they're target, not some trashbin set a few feet from the road. so unlearning that is hard, and until they learn to look for those minute' things on their own, they're going to be little or no help in that area. #army
@Rachel Fogg: Ive seen it.....so cant i say the same thing about you?
Honestly, unless were in the same city, cultures and perceptions change, even within a country. I'm sorry if "me voicing a concern" has offended you, but Ive seen it, and I believe it is a minor problem.
@robinandtami: No im not saying that everyone thinks a girl that touches a controller is a lesbian. Im saying that a person who sees a a girl that plays games a fanatically as the next "Hardcore" person, they are going to have their suspicions, unless disproved.
Im talking about hardcore in the sense that your wedding cake is a companion cube, not "ohh Ive played peggle before". #weddings
@Rachel Fogg: Ok, maybe posting things before Ive woken up isn't the best way to approach a potentially controversial subject.
So yeah, I kind of didn't convey what I was trying to say correctly.
My biff with this whole thing was that stereotypes are prevalent. Not a lot of girls play games (thats changing) and ,at least in my experience, girls who have participated in "hardcore" gaming environments have often been labeled as being "boyish", "misift" and "queer". Its common when people think that one activity is outlandish, that they tack on other controversial attributes to further assert their claims.
Its just how a social society works. You see someone, you don't approve of what there doing, and if you cannot justify hating them, you make up or extrapolate to help justify a claim. Its been the case with games for years. People look at a girl that plays video games and they immediately question why. And with the association of video games and boys, its opened itself to that particular stereotype.
Yes, its not the most common association, but Ive seen just enough people be distrusted, or looked down upon for that very reason. I think this sorta article (however, touching and valid), isn't helping dispel any stereotypes.
Yea, the arguments out of place, but half-asleep me said it made sense. But while it may be out-of-place, and poorly conveyed, its still valid that for, better or worse, there is a stereotype, and it is being perpetuated by this.
Ohh, and thanks for those personal attacks, they really make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It was also a great way to assert your "maturity" by trying to negate an argument with a cop-out like calling me an immature kid..........ironic #weddings
@Dr. Tobias Funke (analrapist):
Yes, I did.
But I in no way envisioned them to be hot. I have met very few girls that are physically attracting, and are hardcore gamers(personality is more important anyway).
And I have met even less lesbians that are attractive(sorry, I'm just being honest)
So crossing those two demographics together isnt asking for a result.
And I wasn't really wrong. #weddings
Well......I don't have a problem with lesbians. But it's not doing any wonders for my perception on girls that play games. Because im hoping that video games don't get the same rep as cars, paint-ball, and (to a monty python esquire extent) 19th century lumberjacks.
Where the few girls that have a genuine interest in it are either a lesbian, or are deterred because they have the perception that only lesbians do it.
Its the same reason why not as many guys go into fashion design, or hair styling. As tolerant as people can be, no one wants to be in an area where they are forced into an environment where they are misinterpreted.
Yeah, this one example isn't going to hurt the world's perception of girls that play games, but it sure isn't helping....
