I look at these vids and the armors and various clothings of the characters and I feel this is one area more games can copy from DCUO, where you take the stats of whatever clothing item (or hell, even the weapon) you're using, but you are given the option to use the look of any item you've ever picked up during the game. I know it's partially so others can look over and say, "Oh cool, you got so and so" but I like having that option to create the look of the character how I liked.
I can't help but wonder if something got lost in the quote in making the two games similar outside of the two companies just outright buying exclusivity rights, but in that both MS and Sony helped with the development of the two titles for that exclusivity.
I don't recall where I read it, but I do remember an article saying how as a trade off for that limited exclusivity MS would help upfront financially with the development of the game with Tales being one of those games that was apart of that deal. After the exclusivity Sony said they wouldn't allow the game on their system if it didn't have some extras in there so it wasn't the same game that appeared on the 360.
And it's not surprising that the PS3 version never came over since the 360 version didn't sell that well and no reason to think that the PS3 version would.
Geez, I actually remember beating this game and going through all that trouble and watching this I really have no clue how but I think it did take me at least an hour if not more.
I swear Blur Studios has done more for this game with their trailers and cinematics in getting people exciting and wanting to play this game over any video out there so far.
I always thought a Kinect Rainbow Six could work well, not so much on it's own by augmenting the experience. Like using real hand gestures to order your team around and actually pointing out on screen with your fingers where you want them to go and how fast. Or hell, yelling at your team to provide some cover fire or actually being able to bark out simple orders.
I pretty much think this time it's going to be Battlefield's year to win it or lose it, but I do give it to COD is they really do bring a great deal more flash in their trailers to build the excitement.
Guess that's the big difference between being an independent developer and a developer with a major corporation funding you as well as having US military support for your title.
It's true they did that'$ because the two $erie$ fit better together but in a way that'$ mi$$ing the point. Thi$ would be clo$er to say $ony letting Nathan Drake into Mortal Kombat.
It just reminds me of when people were wondering if the 360 would get an exclusive character when Batman: AA was released and nothing came of it. I wouldn't be surprised if there was an partnership between Sony and WB in some way (and who knows how legit that whole $400 billion thing was).
After that, I sort of wish they'd think outside of the box if there was ever a chance of a exclusive character, I'd love to see Marcus Fenix or Fulgore but in a way I'd be more curious to see maybe like a Kaim or even taking a little further, Conker.
Damn, that's sort of sad that the first game I could think of would be Too Human. After that it's sort of stretching it or wouldn't work (such as Fable or Kameo).
I think you were totally in the right with what you did, I would have done the same thing if under similar circumstances. I mean, if it was just done that first time I would consider it a joke and laughed it up a bit after some swearing. The second time and it's just a slap in the face.
Weird, it told me I couldn't post my edit and now I can't edit my previous post..
Anyways, I should also mention that a large reason DC has some daft characters is that a portion of them were made for the sole purpose of being daft or one time use for a story, it all just matters how many of them make it into other forms of media outside of the comics. In which you usually see DC's media play more around with there more daft characters then Marvel does who usually just sticks with the characters people know are have been developed more.
Spider-Man pretty much has a laundry list all to his own of stupid villains: The Answer, Rocket Racer, The Walrus, Swarm, The Kangaroo, The White Rabbit, Chicken Cow (I know he has his fans, but really now), one could go on. And lets not even get into the Spider-Man character that got his powers from being bitten by a radioactive jack rabbit.
That and a big reason Iron Man and Thor don't have a list of their own is because they don't have that big of a rogues gallery to begin with, and STILL farted out The Mongoose, The 4D Man and The Unicorn.
I don't think cheap tactics in themselves ruin a game, I think a person or a team relying on them as their only game play strategy is crap. Like for example with Modern Warfare 2, I've quit many a game where the whole opposite team only used noob tubes with some of them using the noob tube/One Man Army combo. Though I still have the greatest problem with hackers and glitchers.
