I am actually getting nausea from trying to navigate. That partial scrolling of the main body and the non-scrolling of the side bar contribute to a dizzying sensation. This might be the worst UI experience for a website I can remember. I think the editors must be in denial if they think it's just a matter of people getting used to change. If newcomers came to visit, would they not notice the total lack of usability? If i come back to this site, it will only be to this page.
Well, this is just for the US. In some parts of the world, they don't even have internet, TV's, or electricity. They just gather some tufts of grass around their PS3's and stare longingly at the matte finish.
@NajinX: Oh, a kid-friendly mode would be rad. I guess it's kind of like the idea from Haze where you're wearing this visor that makes everything sunny and happy.
You press a button, and Kratos is doing combos like petting a giant bunny and tickling its ears. When you know what's really happening.
@PTB315:
Billy: Dear Playstation, yesterday morning I couldn't get on the PSN--
Butler: Billy, we at Sony are aware of a few isolated reports of PS3's experiencing an error. Not to worry, our engineers are on it, and we'll let you know as soon as we've found a--
Billy: --but I just read online that it's a leap year bug that only affects older models. Oh, and that the problem has already fixed itself.
Butler: Oh.
Billy: Haha, the PS3 is so smart, it can fix its own bugs!
Butler: Good one Billy. As if the PS3 could..think..for...itself... (eyes wide)
I think the question is whether the tech is not good enough yet or if it is an intrinsically flawed idea to begin with. Suppose Natal 2.0 tracked perfectly. Then does it become not-fun because the illusion of being a skilled swordsman is lost?
I don't think people should expect civility from blog comments, to be honest. Maybe someday when apes drive flying cars.
It's nice when you get it, but we should just keep our expectations low and simply glean what wisdom we can from the masses. Otherwise it's just ongoing arguments with the 12 year old common denominator.
As for not reading the article, well, it's a valid complaint, but again clipped quotes are a reality columnists are going to have to get used to. That's why they should start using one dimensional titles like "The Wii hates family values" or "Video games = terrorism". You know, something digestible.
I guess I am kidding, but should professionals really get ruffled over commenters? How about no.
@KazeEternal: Yeah, that's like 5 percent. I can't believe that many people pirate. It just makes the 360's attach rate that much crazier. The 19 mill must buys a lot of games. #xbox360
@fearing: I don't know if what the guy is saying makes all that much sense. Why talk about specific strengths and weaknesses when you started with the 360 and then ported? There is no way that is a fair test of two consoles. Lead console wins.
If would be entirely a fair question if you were at the point of *choosing* a lead platform. You might then ask would one rather have this type of RAM or that type of storage, and so on.
All he saying is, sorry fanboys, nothing against you.
@string_theory: I don't know if companies should be held to the same standards as your parents or your significant others, in terms of promises. What you have to evaluate is if their current value proposition is compelling for you.
@OW-Holmes--Upset with Polling: First of all, you should never listen to anyone at Best Buy concerning technical, videogaming, marital issues, what have you.
Second of all, you should really consider what exclusives you are most interested in, before deciding on a console.
@MysteryPersonX: Nice. That is a good deal. It also looks like they added some other things. "Other updates include shorter load times, upgraded textures, improved visual effects, and 16:9 widescreen capabilities. "
Hopefully, Sony follows suit and doesn't bother with processor upgrades in the PS4.
