Hah, I love Rooster Teeth but I just like their machinima better. Please hurry up with Red vs. Blue; your comics and live action videos are the reason why I pretty much lost interest in the site.
@Steven Hott: But OT is so much betterer!!!!!!!111
@AchromaticMagus: Contra 4 was lush, but it wasn't cluttered and a pain to look at.
@miquonranger03: They made Contra 4, which was BEAUTIFUL and a great game to boot! I'm completely sold on practically anything they make.
Wow! So THAT'S what happened to the sequel!
@Curse lily: Pshhh. All the COOL people are playing the outdated version on their Dreamcasts.
@Ashton: If you think THAT'S hot, wait till you see this: [www.mechadamashii.com]
@pandafresh: He is a hentai artist, though he's more well known for doing those two Shining games, I guess. His art's really nice, actually.
@Spaceknight: Well, I'd argue that people DO talk about high scores from Tetris, but I think the cause of this change in measurement perception lies more in the change in gameplay. There's more to than Super Mario Bros. than getting a high score; in fact, I'd say that's a very minimal part of it. However, arcade games back in the day really didn't have anything else to go for besides the high score. These days, even though there are newer arcade-style games out, most gamers have moved on, and gaming as an entertainment medium has evolved significantly - of course, this might mean less staying power for newer games, but I'm fine with that. I don't think that there's anything "fun" about playing Asteroids for 58 hours straight; in fact I think it's completely diluting the game by exploiting it, and we're not really having a discussion about the game itself, just how the guy achieved the highest score.
Awesome; I love Tony Taka's art and I can't wait to see what this next project's going to be. Also, the world needs more mech arcade games. I really wish I had the opportunity to play Border Break or that Gundam cockpit game....
@Akio Morita: It's not really Kotaku, it's just Fahey.
@Jim-sama: Yeah, my neck always hurts when playing any portable for extended periods of time. Unfortunately, there's no remedy for that, though at least the PSP lets you plug into a TV.
@Xeo: Whoops, guess I should learn to read! Lucky I have an iPad for that, right?
@ctorre: It sounds more like a dumbed-down portable version.
@Xeo: That doesn't tell me how to orient my iPad optimally! 1. Turn iPad on its side. 2. Put in box. 3. Return to store. All your steps come AFTER that, silly!
Optimal iPad Gaming? Not gaming on the iPad at all! HAW HAW HAW
@Jake W.: Unfortunately, I remember hearing an official statement some years back from Lionhead that Black and White is officially "over" and they're not making one again... a shame because, despite how much I like the games, they have some glaring gameplay faults that I'd like addressed. Though, Black and White for Natal would be BRILLIANT and would be reason enough for me to invest.
@AznMetalHead: I'm sure you'll enjoy it if you enjoyed the first, just a heads-up that you'll probably be very annoyed by whiny villagers who are never satisfied. Oh! And you can also control the time of day by dragging the Sun across the sky. Don't know if that was in the first, but I thought it was pretty neat.
@AchromaticMagus: That all blew my mind. I didn't think that kind of stuff could actually happen in a game, but then again I stopped playing The Sims after the first. I've been meaning to pick up the 3rd, but I just don't have the time or patience, not to mention there are so many other games I want to play... If only I was REALLY God, then making more time wouldn't be a problem. :P
