It's what I call the "Wii Heritage Theory"
I was going to write all out in my blog,but here is what I surmise.Nintendo has a pretty product going with great popularity.They are entrenching themselves into the homes of people that normally wouldn't care about games and now love the Wii's capablity and general "fun" gameplay.
You now have a very large consumer base after a few years who associate that fun with the term "Wii" and "Nintendo".

Nintendo knows they can do capable consoles if they want to,but really don't want to get into a making up losses like Sony and MS have for years.

Well,they develop a next gen console with HD graphics,nice sized Hardrive,Waggle and other standard fare.You have a higher price point,but you have a consumer base that loves their Wii and now that you have a Nintendo Console that lets you play HD graphic Mario/Zelda games and do pretty much what the others have,you won't mind spending a little more on it.

Similar to what Sony hopes the PS2 fanbase does to the PS3.But,price is the key.

If you don't think that Nintendo isn't thinking down the road towards a HD capable console,HD and more for at least 5-6 years down the road,well they are..that's the way it works.
Take the best aspects of the Wii and add the features of a 360/PS3 console and sell it as Wii-HD and you bring in two audiences.
Hell,you could see that before that time

Yeah,RROD doesn't really have anything to do with his actual comments.The problem still exists and still happens though.Yes a warranty fix is great and it's helped me,but when you have people that are on their 5th or more console(On my third) then it's a stigma that's going to stick forever.They just needed more testing time.

Back to the actual comments..
It just doesn't jive with reality,Don? The consumer isn't dumb.We can see a lot of the things that are out there.Give us some credit..

Depends on how you want to look at it I guess.Not counting the Wii,the US is the only place MS is really beating Sony.But,then you look at this years NPD numbers and Sony is outselling MS in the US so far.

Well in case of video services.The rights to the Movie studios has to be negoitated by each region.They won't allow worldwide rights to their movies.Area specific laws also compound this especially for Europe.It's sorta the same thing with Europe for games,localization,laws also inhibit game releases and cause delays.
Canada will get their PSN video store after movie rights are talked about.Japan will get it next though.

The only thing I don't understand is the idiots that say they are selling their PS3s.It's not a 360 exclusive folks.It's being ported from the PS3 copy.It's multiplatform.Expect things like this to happen.

Besides,Square and Sony will be ok.There are still games to be talked about that will come to the PS3.It'll be ok.

Poor management doesn't really equate to dump trucks of money and 3rd parties realizing it's better to have the larger install base.If MS wants to spend money on exclusives,you can't really do anything about that.
They hedged 50 million on DLC for GTA4 and it's not even really sure that will come this year.They say fall,but really?
Sony just needs to get into running it's first party studios and making unique and very well made IPs.The exclusive third party title is becoming the dinosaur.

Yeah,pretty much everything but Flower,Mag,Infamous and GOW 3 comes this year(resistance retribution also)I could give you the list if you like.It's quite a bit.

Don't use the Mii's for much,don't see myself caring too much about avatars either(except to use the party mode)

Really? Cause I thought E3 was about games.They did show Fable 2,Gears and a Xbla arcade game or two,but not a ton of content.I do like the dashboard change,but could care less about the Singstar Clone and the awful looking in the movies.Where was Banjo Kazooie? Fallout 3 is multiplatform..FFXiii is impressive,but I dont'really care about JRPGs,plus more people get to play it and it'll probably look good since it's being ported from PS3 to 360

Almost all of Sony's content releases this year except for the last three and one psp game.They really have a nice lineup and their group of PSN games is just much better than what I have on XBLA.

I'd say both Sony and MS did a good job,but Nintendo..sorry fellas.
