"Wonder how much this cost Valve. This could net them a few more users, sure Alienware are gaming PCs so you'd expect a PC gamer to already have a Steam account, however majority of PC gamers I know with Steam can build their own machine and avoid Alienware like the plague. So there will be a fair few guys with this being their first PC gaming machine, and this Steam program installed on their PC handily has access to hundreds(thousands?) of games. Just like OpenOffice is gaming a foothold through similar deals, folks realise it has most of what they need out of the £120 MS Office, but with none of the cost."
