Actually the game didn't "face plant" in retail. The game sold way more than projected sales given by Activision.

I'm sure someone has said this already, but if not... they should have already been doing this.
So they couldn't have just dedicated the nunchuk to a slower or heavy-class weapon, such as a shield or hammer, while using the Motion plus-enabled wiimote for a faster weapon such as a sword or mace for example? It's a shame that motion plus isn't being used more by developers, especially when it has potential.
