Because the Earth is too bright. It's a very good reflector. Much better than the moon. EDIT: Or, this is a composite image... OK, well, I still think that if you're looking at the daylight side of earth from up close enough, you won't be able to see the stars very clearly.

Like that.

TP, by nature, smears. Water doesn't smear, it dislodges.
Yeah, except you have it backwards. Bidets don't smear anything, they blast it off AND get through hair. TP smears. Bidets also don't require you to use anything on your Butt cheeks... Just the crack (and hole)
I haven't used a bidet for my whole life, but I've used one for the past 3 months, and I hate to have to go back to TP. TP gets caught in hair, it doesn't clean well (mostly due to the hair), and it leaves bits of itself inside. The bidet... Well, I have it on a pretty strong stream, which is probably important. I also move my butt around (only in one direction, don't need to bidet my cheeks...) to try to make sure everything is clean, and I leave it on for a good 20-30 seconds, but my butt is very clean after. I also dab with TP to dry off, and the TP always comes off clean.
Toilet paper doesn't handle the hair very well. Water does. Also, the water goes straight in, and straight down. It does very little splashing, and poo doesn't go anywhere but down.

Also, with a bidet, there's no bits of TP that stick.

I've overcleaned with TP and wound up hurting myself, but my undies are sparkling after using the bidet regularly.

I know. Japan has the worst toilet paper in the world, and their toilets tend not to clean themselves very well, but the seat-warming anus-cleansing bidet seats make it all worth while. Oh, I just wish mine had a butt dryer on it. That would make it perfect.
Well, this account was banned on my main blog because I said tl;dr back when they posted articles by this guy who essentially wrote novels on the site, and it took me a few minutes just to scroll down to the bottom. I don't often check this account, so that should explain the three weeks thing. As for white knighting, no. I'm just being realistic. People love to talk about how much Sony copies, but ignore when the other two do it just as much...

Well, Nintendo doesn't do it as much if only because they've got the Apple Mentality that different is always better, even when it's not. Sometimes the best route is just to use what works rather than try to reinvent the wheel, and sometimes they reject new tech because they're afraid of it or because it means they'd have to team up with partners that may not agree with them (like Sony back in the day.) They do copy quite a lot, though.

Hardly. Move, for instance, was first patented in 2000, then revised in 2004. So often, they're accused of copying because they're too cautious, or when they're not cautious (Eyetoy) they put out a product that hasn't been fleshed out and their competitor works off of their idea and puts something out that's a little better and succeeds where they failed.
Sort of like Nintendo tacking on a second analogue stick add-on to the 3ds in response to the interest shown in the Vita. Honestly, they ALL engage in me-too, and they all have innovations. It's just that Sony lead last generation (with the consoles, anyhow) so people scrutinize them more. The same thing is starting to happen with Nintendo, now. If Microsoft were to suddenly discover some holy grail of game sales (not counting things like Call of Duty, which are multi-platform, even if they do sell best on 360) and outsold Wii and PS3 combined, they'd be under the same scrutiny next gen.

If you really wanna see cruising on other people's ideas, you should have paid attention to the things that Sony UK was doing with the Eyetoy / Eye, and compare that to current Kinect implementations. That was really a result of Sony being too safe because they hadn't sold well before, and thought the public wasn't interested in it, but MS took a risk with an expensive camera and went where Sony was probably going to wait a generation to go.
Except the Wii's Vitality Sensor

1. Wasn't the first of its kind (There have been videogame applications for biofeedback for a long time, and Nintendo's wasn't even the first to be introduced to the consumer market)

2. Is far less practical than this, because one hand is essentially incapacitated.

It's like the single analogue stick vs the dual.

I mean, it is an obvious take off the vitality sensor, but not copy-pasta by any means (like the Kinect to Eyetoy)
What the hell is that supposed to mean?

"Controller free gaming" Like Eyetoy. Don't deny it.
"Innovative medical applications" That MS didn't make. Technically speaking, they didn't even make the camera, but let's talk about what they actually did make.
"Futuristic robot control... 3D Modeling... Restores Sight to the Blind"
MS did none of those things, but I could have sworn I saw some 3d modeling with Move... It would make more sense to use something with buttons to do 3d modeling than moving your hand around. Having used both of them, I can definitely say that Move is far more precise, and having been a 3d Modeler, I can also say I wouldn't want to try to model without something tactile.

Again, as for what came out of Sony's R&D with Eyetoy and Eye and Move compared to what came out of MS's R&D, I'm much, MUCH more impressed with Sony's stuff. They just don't know how to sell it to game devs.

Then again, after reading your comment to DarthXehanort... You want to bitch about Sony and nothing could change that, so this is my last message to you.
@Bryan Pope: You haven't been around the Internet long if that's true. Or you're too busy eating various unhealthy things you enjoy eating.
Movie 4 will ruin book 4... There is a tearjerker scene in the 4th book that's turned into a cartoony mess in the Movie... Knowing ahead of time what it all actually means (meaning the pensive scene) will ruin the book for you. As for the rest, well... The books are more entertaining, but I suggest at least reading the 4th book before watching the movies.

Depending on how it's handled in Deathly Hallows, something similar may be worth it there, too.
So... No glasses needed, but you all have to cram into the "sweet spot"?

Well, they said the viewing angle is wide, but... what are they comparing it with?

Color me skeptical.
@Unionhawk: This... I hate auto smileys...
Kinect is going to rock! It can anticipate your movements ahead of time!
A friend of mine had a threat made against his life if he didn't give up his place in the Wii line. Got arrested. Turned out he was a soldier headed to Iraq the next day. It's possible the Wii wasn't his real target, but I'm sure a court martial isn't exactly the type of get-out-of-war card he was going for.
@FurySamurai72: Only in Pan and scan. Otherwise it's squished.
@Wwhat: Once, I had a dream, and this is it.
My parents watch pretty much all SD only TV on wide, but they do usually choose HD channels, unless it's broadcasting something SD (like how many reporters' cams aren't HD yet, so you see a border on the side of the image when watching it on HD) Then they turn to the SD channels and have it stretched out...

I sometimes find it difficult to watch TV with my parents.
