Oh, the following albums I recommend from the people that you bookmarked on eMusic. Console - "Rocket In The Pocket", Lali Puna - "Faking The Books", Ms. John Soda - "No P. or D.", Jatun - "Jatun", and Manual - "Ascend". Really tho, anything these guys do is good stuff.

Oh yeah, MF Doom is great. My roots in Hip Hop are kinda old-school, guys like ... A Tribe Called Quest, Hieroglyphics, Souls of Mischief, Wu-Tang Clan, The Pharcyde and De La Soul. I dig the old "jazzy" hip hop days, miss them too. Do you listen to any artists off of Anticon? They're a underground hip-hop, experimental, electronica label ... they put out some really cool stuff. 13 & God, Themselves, Odd Nosdam, Subtle and cLOUDDEAD are all part of that scene. Really crafty stuff for sure. All these guys are on MySpace as well, so that's a good way to check them out. I too buy quite a few releases on eMusic, as well as iTunes. But I'm a vinyl man myself. I love the sound of vinyl. You shouldn't feel like an idiot for not knowing any of those groups I mentioned ... there's sooo much stuff out there these days it's hard to keep on track really. Hope that you do enjoy some of the stuff I mentioned, and let me know if any of it really hits you. Some of those guys that I mentioned are my friends and peers.

Labcabincalifornia is a classic album! I haven't listed to that in some years now. Godspeed You Black Emperor is typically labeled as "post rock", just like Mogwai and Sigur Ros. Epic instrumental music. Shoegaze is bands like My Bloody Valentine, Swervedriver, The Jesus & Mary Chain. Shoegaze is usually a term for lush & loud pop rock sound, with vocals that aren't upfront ... but mixed more as an instrument.

Do you listen to any of the shoegaze electronica bands? Bands like Jatun, Ulrich Schnauss, M83, Manual or Syntaks?

What about any bands off of Morr like B.fleischmann, Ms. John Soda, Lali Puna, The Notwist, Console?

Definitely check those groups out on MySpace if you haven't already. Also, if you haven't heard anything from Cornelius since Fantasma, I HIGHLY suggest checking out the follow up album "Point" or the newest one, "Sensuous".

Woohoo, a Cornelius fan on Kotaku!!! I thought that I was the only one.
