@TheAmericnDream: Pro Tip: when Valve releases a game, do not buy it for a console. Buy it for the PC. Valve "hates" consoles, but loves money. You will never be satisfied with a console Valve game because Valve will support and release new content on the PC quickly and for free. X360 and PS3 approval processes and focus on charging for DLC pisses Valve off, so don't bother.

@bobtheduck: But you're generalizing across different industries. It doesn't make for a nice comparison.

@gsquirrel: I could take most of your post and substitute the Xbox for PS3. "Why would you buy a PS3 when most major titles come out for both systems and the 360 is cheaper and better established?"

For me personally, there are no PS3 titles that catch my attention. Know why? I'm not into JRPGs and poorly controlled Japanese games.

@Aodh: Sounds like typical Japanese ethnocentrism. You can come out with games that are the best on a console that is the cheapest, but you'll never overcome basic nationalism/racism.

Are you a white or non-japanese English teacher? I bet you experience racism a lot over there. I heard it's rampant and it's difficult to get a job in corporate Japan if you're not a "pure blood."

@Saint Anima: Hell, you can use the "'cuz it's American" argument all you want because I know that I sure as hell stay the fuck away from a lot of games "'cuz they're Japanese."

@ara: So between the 360 having no games that you want to play and the PS3 just plain having no fucking games at all, WTF are you playing?

@Ted: Probably not, which is why the rest of the world had kinda given up on the Japanese gaming industry. Just look at all the people who will criticize a game by calling it "Japanese."

@bobtheduck: If you can't afford a $30 memory stick, you shouldn't be spending your money on a trip to Japan or even an internet connection. Unless, of course, you're one of those people who practically lives at the library and uses their computers.
