@dh4645: oh, ha! look at that sorry to steal your thunder dude.
@ajay42: er demoed AT NYCC... goddamn lack of edit feature
I demoed the Conduit and NY Comic Con and this problem is already addressed in the one of the control tweaking options. You can set it to essentially 'pretend' your still turning when you go off screen or you can tell it to stop turning when youve gone too far and youre off the screen.
FF XIII : (insert subtitle here) for the Wii

theyd be idiots not to.

@gogt200: "As is, however, he is just another "critic" who seems to believe that video games cannot become art and wishes for the genre of entertainment to become culturally unacceptable."

Huh? Its clearly exactly the opposite: he's taking games seriously enough as art to actually want to engage with the content at a slightly more in depth level and not just say 'aww, shit its just a game for fun man!'

"While THQ doesn't specify which actor will be taking on which role, so we'll have to assume they're covering the lead roles of Scorpion and Tarantula. I couldn't imagine a more appropriate casting."

""Billy Bob Thornton and Dennis Hopper's involvement as the voice talent for the human characters in Deadly Creatures is a testament to the game's high level of quality," said Nick Wlodyka, General Manager, Rainbow Studios. "The AAA talent helps bring this cinematic storyline of greed and betrayal to life in a one-of-a-kind action-thriller exclusively on Wii.""

Did you even read the press release?

There is an obvious solution to the PC gaming dilemma: stop designing games for top end machines. Period. You can actually do some pretty stunning things with as little as an intel integrated chip IF you design your engine and code your game with those super low specs in mind. The mouse is a fantastic (read: the best) input device but most people are going to spend the outrageous time and money it takes to buy or build and then maintain a gaming machine just so you can get realistic foliage physics.

Valve have almost done this (the source engine ALMOST scales down to that low, you can force it to run glitchy) and so have Blizzard and LO AND BEHOLD they're ridiculously successful PC developers.

@Sakilla:
Politically outspoken idiots? They made one off hand comment and the brownshirts in this country came out in droves at the behest of right wing radio to stage some good ol' record burnings. and that makes them idiots?

also, why do people care so much about this? this piece of news is essentially: more music to come to rock band. you may or may not like any # of things to come out by why take it as a personal affront?

@Brian Crecente and everyone else talking about 'real country': i love johnny cash and hank williams senior as much if not in all odds a bit more than you do BUT you should realize that the dixie chicks despite media image are far closer to those guys than they are to contemporary country-pop. check out the record Home sometime. those kids can play.

Finally, and sorry to abuse the thread system, @ the idiots claiming that there is "no talent" in hip-hop, neo-soul, etc. You're wrong. Most hip-hop producers, neo-soul instrumentalists and vocalists, etc. could dance musical circles around your favorite rock band in many cases if you want to turn an art form into a boxing match (which seems to be popular around these parts.)the amount of composition that goes into many good hip-hop/rap track is pretty unbelievable. and the simple ones are simple not in a 'no talent' way but in much the same way that some three chord folk song has all the chords if really needs.

ok, thats it.- ajay, a musician first and a gamer second.

@bigman88zz: both those games sold really well. over a million copies each, I believe. Someone is buying them.
""a modern interpretation of the epic poem and will have players fighting their way through the depths of hell""

corrected:
a modern interpretation of the epic poem will have players entirely missing the point.

@FrigidAir44: Wow. Almost everything you said is factually wrong. The IR has nothing to do with motion control at all. It has to do with the mouse-like pointer which is, by most accounts, an excellent control scheme. Most of the people in the media who have taken the time to actually try it out and learn it (on the granted few games that properly implement it) have admitted that it is a vastly superior setup to dual-analog control and just a few notches down from mouse and keyboard.
why the hate for Kororinpa? its a budget series thats worth every penny and widely liked.
"but it still needs a fairly beefy system"

huh? it runs on gma 950 on PC... thats about as unbeefy as you can get. People saying this isn't a "mac" problem are insane: you can run it on a PC with LESSER specs than what is being discussed here and it will work fine.

im surprised you guys didnt frankenreview the wii version; isnt that what most people want to know about?
(and thats not even counting VC or Wiiware...)
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Smash Brother Brawl
Twilight Princess
Metroid Prime 3
No More Heroes
Zack and Wiki
Boom Blox
Super Paper Mario
Fire Emblem
Mario Kart
Resident Evil 4: Wii
BlastWorks
Pro-Evo Soccer (best on wii)
Trauma Center 2

and i really could keep going... not enough good and/or core games on Wii? and you're all multi-console players like myself? you guys have WAAAAAAY too much time on your hands!

(btw if you're the kind of frat boy hiding in nerds clothing that things Halo or GoW is hardcore but blastworks isnt, just kill yourself.)

so the most important question that i haven't really heard answered yet is: which has a better vs. mode? this or force unleashed? from the previews it seems as if force unleashed may in fact (despite the vs. mode being just an extra feature there) be the better choice.
hmm? the wii has some great rail shooters...
