"I'm on my second play through of Uncharted 2 and while I can see where the author is coming from, this piece comes off as incredibly nitpicky... If we want to dissect the narrative and character action inconsistencies in video games we could dedicate an entire website to the subject. Seeing as Drake has ostensibly killed thousands of people (between the first game and early moments of the second) by the time we are put in the the position to kill the museum guard, I think it's less incongruous than Wardrip-Fruin frames it for Drake to kill someone that was between him and his objective, there being no other way around this situation in the game. For the player who hasn't played Uncharted 1, it tells them that Drake, while a likable guy, isn't above doing bad things to achieve his goals."
